Kinetic Renewables: solar, battery storage and EV charging in Essex

Kinetic Renewables is a solar installation company operating in Essex and Colchester. The business presents itself as a qualified installer covering all aspects of solar installation and battery storage solutions, alongside electric vehicle charging and maintenance of existing solar PV systems. Its director, Gareth, is described as the person who carries out installations, and the company states that it brings over ten years of experience as an electrical engineer.

The company is MCS accredited, a member of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code and counts NAPIT-approved electricians among its credentials, according to its own presentation.

Solar panel installation for homes and businesses

Kinetic Renewables installs solar panels for residential and commercial properties. The company explains that the process involves mounting panels on rooftops or on the ground, connecting them to an inverter and linking the inverter to the electrical grid or a battery system. It positions solar generation as a way to lower a property's carbon footprint and reduce reliance on the grid.

The firm also offers maintenance for solar PV systems, stating that it has experience working with a variety of makes and models and can fix and maintain existing installations.

Battery storage, off-grid and backup power

Battery storage is a core part of the offer. Kinetic Renewables describes these systems as a way to store electricity for later use, including charging batteries on cheaper overnight tariffs and discharging the stored energy when household demand requires it. The batteries used in these systems are typically lithium-ion, according to the company.

Beyond standard storage, the installer also fits full off-grid systems and configurations designed to keep a home running during a power cut. Customer accounts published on the site describe installations that included a UPS/EPS setup for backup power and a 9.5 kWh Givenergy system.

Electric vehicle charging

The company installs EV chargers and states that it works with all makes and models of chargers to match the right unit to the vehicle. It also highlights the possibility of charging an electric car using surplus solar generation. In its general explanation of EV charging, Kinetic Renewables notes that home charging from a standard wall outlet can be slow and that specialised charging stations are used for faster recharging.

How the company describes its approach

Kinetic Renewables frames its mission around customer service, workmanship and designing systems that suit the customer's needs rather than the installer's convenience. It states that it aims for 100% customer satisfaction. The company also emphasises that it conducts site surveys, a point echoed in customer accounts that contrast this with competitors who quoted remotely.

Testimonials on the site describe the director as knowledgeable, courteous and meticulous, and refer to clean worksites, attention to detail and ongoing support after commissioning. One reviewer mentions choosing a Rayleigh Instruments kit for its build quality, while another refers to a 9.5 kWh Givenergy battery system. These are individual customer experiences rather than verified assessments by this directory.
