Smoke Lounge

Smoke Lounge: cigars, pipes and tobacco in Glasgow since 1994

Smoke Lounge is a Glasgow retailer of premium cigars, pipes, tobacco and smoking accessories that has been trading since 1994. The business presents itself as a specialist for customers it describes as discerning connoisseurs, combining a physical lounge with a curated online shop. Its range is organised around cigars, pipe tobacco, hand-rolling products, shisha and the accessories that accompany them.

The cigar range

Cigars form the core of the catalogue and are divided into Cuban and world selections. The Cuban list includes Bolívar, Cohiba, Guantanamera, Jose L. Piedra Minis, Montecristo, Partagás and Romeo y Julieta. Under world cigars the shop groups Gurkha, Castella Dominicana, flavoured lines, Hamlet, Honduran and Nicaraguan cigars, and a Trinidad selection.

Pipes and loose tobacco

The pipe section covers both the hardware and what goes into it. Pipe brands named in the catalogue are Aldo Morelli, Churchwarden, John Brumfit, Lorenzo and Peterson of Dublin. Loose tobacco is split into hand-rolling and pipe tobacco, with pipe blends from Kendal, Mac Baren, Peterson and Samuel Gawith, alongside an "other" category. A separate shisha tobacco line and a snuff line complete the loose-product offer, and herbal tobacco is also listed.

Cigarettes and hand-rolling

Cigarettes are grouped into hand-rolling, special cigarettes and a general cigarettes section. Among the featured items the shop listed at the time of writing were TAAT Original Pack (Red) at £8.00, Sobranie Black Russian Cigarettes at £34.00, Condor Ready Rubbed at £26.00 and a Three Leaf Herbal Tea Blend (28g) at £12.00. New arrivals included Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake in a 50g tin at £28.00 and the TAAT Menthol (Green) and Smooth (Blue) packs, also at £8.00.

Lighters and smoking accessories

Accessories are organised by the product they serve. Cigar smokers are served by cigar lighters from Colibri and Pierre Cardin, cutters, holders, humidors and cleaning items. Pipe users have their own pipe lighters, bowls, cleaners, filters and pouches. Holders and filters and lighter accessories appear as separate groups, and the site maintains a special offers section.

Sourcing and in-house blending

The company states that it sources directly from family-run plantations and blends its own tobaccos in small batches. It frames this as a deliberate, unhurried approach to the products it sells, a positioning summed up in its own presentation as "the art of slow living".

Buying in store or online

Purchases can be made at the Glasgow shop or through the online store. The website advertises a 48-hour delivery option that can be selected at checkout, and it publishes delivery, refund and returns policies. Access to the shop is gated by an age confirmation for visitors over 18. The site also invites customers to join a mailing list offering early access to rare releases, tasting events and members-only offers.
