Kelvin Timber

Kelvin Timber, a timber and building merchant in Glasgow and Hamilton

Kelvin Timber presents itself as a timber and building merchant supplying both trade and public customers from Glasgow and Hamilton. Its catalogue is organised around the materials needed for structural work, interior fit-out and outdoor landscaping, and the site combines stocked lines with items ordered in from suppliers.

The company operates a trade or cash account option and a quote request service, and it publishes material calculators for tasks such as floorboards, concrete blocks, standard bricks, decking, fencing and paving.

Timber, sheet materials and construction lines

The timber and sheet materials range covers sawn and treated timber, premium dressed timber, construction timber, sheet materials and chipboard flooring. Facings, skirtings and mouldings are grouped alongside acoustic slat wall panelling and stair parts, with Cheshire Mouldings named as a supplier for the stair range. Flooring includes real wood flooring that can be ordered in, and the site notes that the sales team handles product enquiries for it.

Building materials and roofing

Under building materials the catalogue lists bricks, blocks and coping, sand and aggregates, insulation, roughcasting and render, plaster and plasterboard, lintels and cills, and general building accessories. The roofing section covers PVC roofline products, tiles, tile flashing, lead flashing, roofing felt and radon barrier. A drainage and guttering category separates above-ground rainwater products from underground drainage and miscellaneous drainage components.

Garden, landscaping and outdoor structures

The garden and landscaping range includes timber decking with boards, handrail and baserail, fixtures and fittings, plus composite decking under the Arcadian and Horael names with matching clips, screws and trim. Timber fencing is offered with overlap fence panels, trellis and fencing accessories, alongside paving slabs, decorative aggregates, topsoil and ground coverings, and artificial grass.

The site also lists insulated garden buildings, sheds in apex, reverse pent and tongue-and-groove styles, log storage, small storage, pergolas including corner and modular designs, pergola with decking, decking kits and pet housing, with Forest named as a supplier of garden buildings.

Doors, fixings and sealants

Doors form a substantial part of the offer: internal and external doors, pine, oak, white and coloured doors, glazed and bifold doors, fire doors, GRP external doors, hardwood doors and industrial doors, together with hardware, sidelights and accessories. The site names LPD, XL Joinery and JB Kind as door suppliers and mentions Manhattan doors and room dividers.

Fixings and sealants include sealants and adhesives, composite T-clips and screws, decking screws and bolts, drywall screws, wood screws, clipped head nails, round wire nails and clout nails.

Ordering, delivery and payment

Kelvin Timber describes free shipping for locals, speedy shipping in one to three days and standard shipping in four to six days. Collection is stated at one to twenty-four hours, with in-stock items available immediately. Payment options listed on the site include Klarna, ClearPay, Google, Apple and Revolut. The company also advertises a competitor price comparison service, a quick order pad and help finding a tradesman.

Branches and contact

The business distinguishes a west branch and an east branch, each with its own sales email address. The west branch is associated with the Glasgow postcode G62 6JA. The site's store locator is the reference point for branch details.
