Deal Direct Blinds Shutters & Awnings

Made-to-measure blinds, shutters and awnings from Gateshead

Deal Direct Blinds Shutters & Awnings operates from a combined showroom and workshop at Unit 4 Saltmeadows Road in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. The company makes bespoke window coverings and outdoor shading products and installs them for homeowners and businesses across Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Northumberland, Durham and the wider North East.

Its stated approach covers the full process: a home or business appointment to measure up, manufacture of the products by its craftsmen in its own workshop, and professional fitting arranged at a day and time agreed with the customer.

Blinds range

The blind catalogue is broad and includes both common and specialist types. The range listed covers Allusion, blackout, conservatory, electric, panel, Perfect Fit, pleated, roller, Roman, skylight, thermal, Venetian, vertical, Vision and wood Venetian blinds. The company presents this selection as offering choice from the ordinary to the extraordinary, with an extensive range of fabrics.

Plantation shutters

Shutters are made to order and can be adapted to the customer's requirements, including different slat sizes, colours and shutter opening configurations. The styles listed are café style, full height, shaped, solid, tier-on-tier and tracked shutters. The site also groups shutter projects by room, covering bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms and children's rooms.

Awnings, canopies and outdoor structures

For outdoor shading the company offers full cassette awnings and traditional awnings, with a large choice of awning fabrics. The wider outdoor line includes canopies, boundary barriers, wheelie bin covers and pergolas. Deal Direct Pergolas is presented with four outdoor spaces designed to extend the social areas of a home.

Commercial work

A dedicated commercial section lists window blinds for hotels, offices, schools and hospitals, plantation shutters for bistros, cafés, hotels and restaurants, and awnings and canopies for cafés, restaurants and retail shops.

Background and child safety

The company traces its origins to the 1980s, when managing director Ed set out to offer the product and service he demands himself. Since then it has grown from a one-man operation to a showroom and workshop on a single site. Child safety is highlighted as a particular concern, and the site includes a dedicated child safety page alongside information on measuring up, fitting and FAQs.

Reputation

The site states a rating of 4.9 on Google from more than 175 reviews and over 937 five-star reviews on Trustpilot, and describes itself as trusted by homeowners across the UK. Customer comments reproduced on the site refer to plantation shutters, Perfect Fit blinds, roller blinds and punctual, tidy fitting.
