Primrose, an online garden centre for plants and outdoor living

Primrose operates as an online garden centre in the United Kingdom, presenting itself as "the UK's leading online garden centre". Its catalogue is organised around plants and trees, garden decor, garden shade, outdoor living, landscaping and structures, and tools and equipment, with products delivered to the customer's door.

Plants and trees

The plant range covers outdoor and indoor categories. Among outdoor plants the site lists bare root plants, bedding plants, climbers, ferns, fruit trees and bushes, grasses, herbs, perennials, pond plants, roses, shrubs, seeds, trees and vegetables. Bulbs have their own section, with spring bulbs, bulb collections, tulips, daffodils and alliums. For indoor use it offers flowering houseplants, foliage houseplants, orchids and trailing and hanging houseplants.

Plants are also grouped by garden situation and purpose: sunny plants, low maintenance plants, scented plants, big plants for instant impact, pollinator friendly plants and shade loving plants.

Water features, planters and garden decor

Water features form one of the broadest sections, with accessories, bird baths, blade cascades, bubbles, cascading fountains, metal and indoor water fountains, ponds, reservoirs, stone and solar models, spheres, stainless steel pieces, standing water features, statues and figurines, wall hanging fountains, tabletop designs and zinc finishes.

Planters are classified by material — ceramic, concrete, fibreclay, fibreglass, metal, plastic, polystone and stone mix, terracotta, wood and zinc — and by size, from large and medium to small, plus hanging baskets in round, square and trough shapes. The decor section adds artificial plants, bollard lights, clocks, mirrors, ornaments, outdoor lighting such as path and security lights, and wind spinners and windmills.

Shade, furniture and outdoor heating

Under garden shade, Primrose sells awnings in budget, electric and manual versions and in drop arm, full cassette, half cassette and standard formats, alongside sail shades in rectangle, right angle, square, triangle and waterproof variants. Outdoor shelter includes pergolas, verandas, canopies, marquees and parasols, with accessories such as awning covers, awning valances, sail shade poles and fixing kits.

Outdoor living covers garden benches, bistro sets, chairs and seating, dining sets, furniture accessories, sofas, tables, hammocks and parasols. Outdoor heating includes BBQs and accessories, fire pits, outdoor fireplaces and patio heaters.

Landscaping, garden buildings and tools

The landscaping range includes hurdle, wooden, bamboo and decorative fencing, garden gates, posts and fixings, trellises and screening in bamboo, reed, willow, natural and artificial materials, plus lawn edging in metal and plastic. Garden buildings comprise arches, greenhouses, playhouses and sheds and storage. Paths and paving cover decorative stones and aggregates, stepping stones, patio paving and weed control fabric.

Tools and equipment include pest control for cats, foxes, rodents and spiders, watering and irrigation, lawn care, plant supports and obelisks, compost bins, water butts, hand tools and propagation equipment.
