MRD Design Floors

MRD Design Floors, flooring specialists in Forres

MRD Design Floors is a flooring business based in Forres, in the Moray area of Scotland. The company presents itself as "Expert Flooring Specialists since 1992" and traces its origins to founder Mike Duff, who has worked in the floor laying industry since that year. The firm operates from a showroom and combines the supply of flooring materials with installation work and a cleaning service.

Its stated coverage is Morayshire and the surrounding areas, and it indicates that it can also take on work further afield on request.

Flooring ranges on offer

The product catalogue is organised into five families:

• Design floors
• Carpets
• Vinyls
• Laminates
• Engineered wood

Alongside the materials themselves, the site sets out three service lines: installation, supply only and cleaning services. The supply-only option is aimed at customers who arrange their own fitting, while installation covers the laying of the floors supplied.

Experience and training of the fitting team

The company describes its founder as well known and respected in the floor laying trade, and frames his interest in the sector as the driver behind the business's standards. According to the site, the installers accumulate nearly 100 years of combined experience and keep their skills current by attending manufacturers' seminars, training sessions and product awareness courses. This is presented as the reason the firm works with current brands and techniques.

Showroom and consultation process

Customers are received at the company's showroom, where consultations with an advisor can be booked. The site includes a gallery of completed work and a reviews section, and it points visitors to customer opinions as a way of assessing the company's products and service.
