Carpets 4 U

Carpets 4 U, a mobile carpet showroom based in Epsom

Carpets 4 U is a family-run flooring business operated by Holly and her father, described on its site as a father-and-daughter team. The company presents itself as a mobile carpet showroom: rather than expecting customers to visit a shop, it brings samples of its products to the customer's home or premises. It states that it has supplied and fitted carpets and flooring for domestic and commercial customers in Surrey and south-west London for more than 40 years.

The business is based in Epsom and trades as Carpetsforyou Ltd, with a registered address at 4 Marlpit Lane, Coulsdon, CR5 2HA. The site gives the company number 05338274 and VAT number 785 3810 02.

How the home visit works

The core of the service is an on-site appointment. According to the company, the visit allows it to give advice in the customer's own home and to produce an accurate estimate on the spot for different types and costs of carpet. Being on site also lets the team judge whether a chosen carpet suits the room where it will be laid, and check whether existing underlay and fittings can be reused, which the company says avoids unnecessary extra costs.

Because the samples travel with the visit, customers can compare them directly against furniture, curtains or wall coverings. The company describes its estimates as free and without obligation, and says it can move furniture as part of the service.

Flooring range

The catalogue presented on the site covers:

• Carpets
• Vinyls
• Laminates
• Safety flooring
• Stair runners

These products are aimed at both domestic and commercial customers, and the company states that installation is handled by its own in-house fitting service.

Endorsements and customer feedback

The company states that it is a fully vetted member of Checkatrade with more than 1,000 customer reviews, and that it is endorsed by Which? and by Surrey Trading Standards. It also mentions that its advertisement can be heard on Radio Jackie 107.8. The site reproduces short customer comments about carpet laid on a top floor, a stairs, landing and bedroom job, a lounge carpet in Worcester Park and the choice of samples, praising the fitters and the assistance with selection.

Coverage and appointments

Installation is offered to customers across Surrey and south-west London; the company asks customers to call for details of the areas covered. Evening appointments are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays only.
