About Gaynes Park

A family-owned wedding estate on the Epping Ridge

Gaynes Park is a private estate in Essex, near Epping, that has been owned by the same family since 1792. Set high on the Epping Ridge, it is surrounded by countryside yet lies just 19 miles from St Paul's Cathedral, with access via the M25 and M11. The estate is available for civil ceremonies and wedding receptions, and its grounds combine historic buildings, ancient woodland and gardens.

Ceremony and reception spaces

Wedding days at Gaynes Park move through a sequence of distinct settings. The Walled Gardens host outdoor moments, while the light-filled Orangery provides a bright interior space. The Gather Barn and the Mill Barn offer characterful, well-proportioned rooms for celebrations, and the estate's natural light is presented as part of its character throughout the day.

New spaces for 2027

The venue has announced two new spaces for 2027 that are beginning to take shape: the Entrance Drive and Apple Loft, alongside the Long Walk. These additions are intended to expand what the estate offers for wedding days.

Visits and showarounds

Gaynes Park runs individually timed showarounds for couples considering the venue. A First Look event was scheduled for 17–18 October, with the venue lightly dressed and cocktails, mocktails and sweet treats offered as visitors picture their own celebration. The estate also provides a brochure and an online enquiry form for arranging a visit.

Accommodation and practicalities

On-site accommodation is available for wedding parties. The venue is marketed as a private estate with exclusive use, and its location near Epping makes it accessible from London while remaining in a rural setting.
