The Bed Shop Edinburgh

A long-established bed and mattress retailer in Edinburgh

The Bed Shop Edinburgh is a family-run business that describes itself as being in its sixth decade of trading and as having specialised in high-quality beds and mattresses for almost 50 years. From its base in the Bonnington Trade Estate, the shop presents itself as an advisor to generations of families on choosing a bed, and frames its proposition around paying less for a better night's sleep.

The company states that it has built long associations with some of the best-known bedding brand names in the industry, and it devotes a section of its catalogue to Harrison beds and mattresses, a range it presents as backed by more than a century of experience producing quality beds.

Beds across sizes and formats

The bed catalogue is organised by type and by size, covering single, small double, double, king and super king dimensions. The formats on offer include:

• Divan beds, including a super king zip-and-link option and divan bases sold on their own
• Ottoman beds in single through super king sizes
• Wooden beds and fabric beds, both from single to super king
• Metal beds in double and king sizes
• Children's beds, including bunk beds and mid sleepers
• Guest beds, folding beds, day beds and sofa beds

Mattresses by size and configuration

Mattresses are grouped into standard sizes (single, small double, double, king and super king) and European sizes (European double and European king). The shop also lists zipped mattresses in king and super king sizes, aimed at adjustable or split-base setups. Bedding accessories complete this part of the range, with pillows and mattress protectors.

Bedroom furniture and headboards

Beyond beds, the store supplies a large range of furniture. Its bedroom furniture collections are sold under named ranges, among them Avon, Bali, Balmoral, Camden, Cameo, Cube, Curve, Cotswold, Diamond, Hong Kong, Knightsbridge, Maine, Marlborough, Padstow, Pembroke and Sherwood. Individual pieces include mirrors, wardrobes, blanket boxes, dressing tables, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and under-bed storage.

Headboards are offered separately for single, small double, double, king and super king beds, in both wooden and upholstered finishes. The catalogue also includes an Adjust-a-bed line.

Services around the purchase

The company advertises a price match promise and publishes delivery information, assembly instructions and a removal and bed assembly service. Payment is accepted by Visa and Mastercard.
