About Danny Jones Driving Instructor

Danny Jones, a driving instructor teaching in a hybrid Toyota C-HR

Danny Jones works as an approved driving instructor (ADI) and runs DJ's Driving School, the name under which he has operated since leaving Bill Plant Driving in late summer 2025. His tuition is delivered in a 2025 Toyota C-HR Hybrid fitted with dual controls, sensors and air bags. The site presents the hybrid engine as a way to reduce environmental impact and describes the car as responsive and suited to making the learning experience easier.

From farm machinery assessments to professional instruction

Jones explains that he grew up on a farm and first sat behind the wheel of a tractor at around the age of six. During farming college and a short period with JCB he completed numerous driving assessments covering self-propelled motor vehicles, trailers, weighted applications, bulk tankers, spraying machines, combine harvesters, articulated equipment, tracked equipment and specialist heavy machinery. The volume of machinery assessments he accumulated led to him being asked to teach students in lower years some of the training he had received, which he describes as his first real venture into driving tuition.

His father had worked as a driving instructor in a second career after leaving the Police Force, and Jones cites following in his footsteps as one reason for entering the profession. A road traffic accident that took the life of a close relative in 2017, and his role as family liaison to the Police through the legal process, gave him insight into the causes of the accident and into basic driving principles that the driver had missed. He frames his teaching around safe procedures and the consequences of poor driving.

Lesson formats and learner support

The site is organised around a structured set of lesson stages rather than a single offer. It covers what happens at a very first lesson, regular lessons, booking information, mock tests and a booking app. A separate section on lesson structure and a video area support the practical side of the training, while a "Big Day" section deals with booking the driving test itself. Testimonials and an "I PASSED" page collect student outcomes, and a refer-a-friend scheme is listed among the available options.

Training for instructors and areas served

Beyond learner tuition, the school lists ADI training, aimed at people preparing to become driving instructors. A dedicated page sets out the areas covered by the service, and a frequently asked questions section addresses common queries. Pricing is presented on its own page rather than in the general description of the lessons.

How Jones describes his teaching

Jones states that he tries to make lessons fun, entertaining and rewarding while keeping them safe, and that he is happy with his results and with the feedback he receives from students. He describes meeting people who become friends over time and guiding them through the process with the support and education needed to drive safely in the future. These are his own characterisations of the service rather than independently verified claims.
