About Oakleys Farm
Oakleys Farm: a diversified working farm in the Staffordshire Moorlands
Oakleys Farm is a family-run working farm in Dilhorne, Staffordshire, established in 2006. Over time it has grown into a rural hub that brings together farming, food, events, animal experiences and countryside services from a single base. The farm is owned by Oakley Whilock, who was born and bred there and in 2017 purchased the land his family had farmed for generations. Today he farms over 100 acres of Staffordshire countryside and has diversified the business around a farm-to-fork approach and a stated aim of connecting people with the countryside and supporting local producers.
The farm shop and local produce
The farm shop sits at the heart of the farm-to-fork ethos. It stocks the farm's own water buffalo meat and eggs alongside bread, cheese, preserves and other goods from local producers. The shop is described as being stocked by the family and open seven days a week. An online ordering service was announced as launching soon, with home delivery or click & collect from the farm.
Buffalo & Co Kitchen and water buffalo meat
Buffalo & Co Kitchen serves a farm-to-fork menu that includes smash burgers and sides cooked fresh on the farm. The kitchen opens for breakfast and lunch from Thursday to Sunday. Separately, the farm sells meat from its water buffalo, which are raised slowly on Staffordshire pasture.
Visits, animals and education
The farm also runs educational farm visits for schools and groups. A mobile petting farm service brings an interactive farm experience to schools, parties, fetes and care homes, while The Animal Co. provides trained animals for hire. Reindeer hire offers real trained reindeer for Christmas events, schools and corporate days out, available nationwide.
Events and the Tipi
The farm hosts a seasonal events programme. Christmas at Oakleys Farm tickets were on sale at the time of writing. The Tipi is available to hire for weddings, parties and large dinners on the farm.
Garden and farm supplies
Under its garden and farm supplies activity, the farm offers garden supplies such as compost, gravel, mulch and timber, bagged or by the tonne, as well as soils, bark and landscaping materials. The Log Store supplies kiln-dried logs, smokeless coal, kindling and firelighters. Equine forage and bedding includes hay, haylage and shavings, with local delivery and bedding available by the pallet.
