Petite Amélie

Petite Amélie: nursery furniture and toys born from a cot design

Petite Amélie is a retailer of furniture, textiles and toys for babies, toddlers and older children. Its catalogue is organised around four areas of the home — the nursery, the toddler room, the children's room and the playroom — and is complemented by bedding, rugs, decoration, storage and gift selections. The company presents itself as offering "unique & stylish products" and states that orders are delivered within one to three working days, with free shipping above £100.

The brand traces its origin to Lyon in 2010, when a mother-to-be could not find the cot she wanted for her daughter, designed it herself and had it made. That episode is the reference point the company gives for its approach: timeless design, clean lines, neutral colours and pieces conceived to grow with the child.

Nursery furniture and sleeping solutions

The nursery range covers complete furniture sets as well as individual pieces. Among the items listed are convertible cot beds, cots, bedside cribs, chests of drawers and changing table toppers, changing tables, playpens, rocking chairs and armchairs, baby mattresses and safety gates. The catalogue shows specific models such as the oval cot «Cocoon» in 60 x 120 cm, the convertible cot bed oval «Cocoon» in 70 x 140 cm, the 2-in-1 cot and bedside crib «Nuage», the playpen «Nois» in 75 x 95 cm and under-cot drawers for the «Hetre» cot.

Toddler and children's rooms

For the toddler stage, the shop lists toddler beds, junior beds, house beds and Montessori floor beds, along with underbed drawers, bedside tables, children's tables and chairs and toddler mattresses. Named pieces include the toddler bed «Plume» in 70 x 140 cm and the oval toddler bed «Cocoon». The children's room section extends to children's beds, high sleepers, bunk beds, bedside tables, bookshelves, desks and children's mattresses.

Textiles and decoration run across all three room types: baby sleeping bags, baby blankets, changing mats and covers, cot bedding, toddler bedding and duvets, mattress protectors, kids blankets and washable rugs, as well as storage baskets, wall decor, lamps and bed canopies.

Wooden toys and role play

The toy selection is grouped by type and by age, from toys for babies up to toys for four-year-olds. It includes wooden toys, play kitchens and their accessories, doll houses with furniture and dolls, role-play items such as doll prams, dressing tables and vanity sets, workbenches and tools, household sets, teepees and play tents, vehicles and train sets, motor skills toys (baby gyms, baby walkers and ride-ons, rocking animals, soft blocks), activity toys, Montessori toy boxes and outdoor soft toys.

Specific products shown in the catalogue include the wooden play kitchen «Sorbier» with a 13-piece accessory set, the toy fridge «Chantilly» with a 14-piece accessory set, the toy washing machine «Chantilly» with a 10-piece accessory set, the teddy rocking chair «Lune» and the rocking chair «Leandre». A play couch in ten pieces is offered in beige and pink corduroy. The shop also sells gift cards and organises gift ideas by age, including a selection of gifts under £35.
