About Camping @ Croyde Bay
A quiet family campsite in the heart of Croyde village
Camping @ Croyde Bay operates a campsite in North Devon, positioned within Croyde village itself and set in a leafy green space that the site presents as a tranquil base for coastal family holidays. The park describes itself as a destination for quiet family breaks by the sea, and its stated policy of no loud music or overnight partying is intended to let guests sleep undisturbed after a day on the beach or exploring the village.
The surrounding area is presented as a hub for outdoor activity: surfing, walking, cycling and rock climbing, with access to the South West Coast Path and the Tarka Trail. Croyde Bay's wide sandy beach sits along the North Devon coastline and is described as one of the UK's better-known surfing beaches, close to the village's specialist shops and eateries and its thatched cottages.
Pitches and how the fees work
The site lets grass pitches for tents, trailer tents, motorhomes and campervans, with scenic views indicated across the park. Pitches are predominantly level and measure a minimum of 7m by 8m, with most described as very level and even larger; guests with an unusually large tent are asked to say so in advance.
Pitch fees start at £20 per night and include the first person and their vehicle. Extra people, children, electric hook-up, additional cars and EV charging carry additional charges. No charge is made for infants, gazebos, awnings or pop-up tents. Infants aged 0-2 stay free, and the booking process allows infants aged 0-3 to be added at a later stage of the reservation.
Facilities for beach life
A set of facilities is oriented towards surfing and wet-weather camping. The park provides surfboard hire, a wetsuit area and a wetsuit wash, along with hot showers and a hairdryer. Guests can use phone charging at reception, a freezer and washing-up facilities, and the site maintains stocks of soap and toilet rolls. Recycling is available on site, and food vans serve food and drinks on site.
What guests have reported
Reviews displayed on the site give the park an overall 10/10 across several stays. Guests describe the site as clean, well organised and peaceful, with noise rules enforced so families can sleep, and mention the helpfulness of the owner, Stu, and the staff team. Other comments cite the short walk to beaches, shops and pubs, the free WiFi, hot food and drinks from breakfast through to evening meals, and the thought given to practical details such as wetsuit washing and lines for hanging wetsuits.
Season and booking
The park indicated that it opens for Easter weekend and in full from Friday 1 May 2026. Bookings are handled through the website, which also offers an arrival-day search, and enquiries can be made by phone, email or a contact form; visitors can also subscribe to receive offers and promotions by email.
