FT Paints

FT Paints: automotive paint and bodyshop supplies from Coventry

FT Paints operates as a trade-facing supplier of automotive refinishing materials, bodyshop consumables and workshop tools from its base in Coventry. The company presents itself as a counter for professional workshops rather than a general parts shop, combining custom paint mixing with a stocked range of brands and equipment. Its catalogue is organised around vehicle paint, industrial paint, bodyshop essentials, brands and tools.

Paint mixed to code or matched from a sample

The core service is custom paint mixing. FT Paints mixes basecoat, 2K topcoat or an aerosol filled to order when the customer supplies a colour code, and offers matching from a physical sample when the original code is no longer available. A separate general mixed colours line of basecoat is listed as made to order, with prices starting from a stated figure in the catalogue. The site also points customers to a colour code lookup and an explanation of how the mixing process works.

Consumables and tools kept in stock

Alongside paint, the company stocks the recurring consumables a bodyshop reorders regularly and the tools needed to apply them. The catalogue groups these under bodyshop essentials and tools, and includes items such as masking tapes and masking film in various widths and roll counts, panel wipe, a detailing clay kit and a cordless anti-static gun. Bulk and box deals appear in the offers section, including multi-box masking tape and film packs and bulk quantities of finishing filler.

Brands carried

FT Paints states that it keeps the brands bodyshops already specify in stock rather than ordering them in. Among the names listed on the site are Sealey, U-POL, Mirka, Indasa, Roberlo, Mipa, CarTec, Anest Iwata, 3M, Fast Mover, Norton, Starchem, Devilbiss, Motip, Cromax, Glasurit, Novol, MP, GYS and Sata. The company also carries its own Caslek range, which includes masking tapes, masking film and a 1K primer surfacer.

Industrial coatings and number plates

Beyond vehicle refinishing, the company runs an Industrial Line of professional coatings intended for steel, floors, machinery and equipment, offered in any colour. It also provides a number plate builder for road-legal front, rear or paired plates, assembled online in three steps and collected from the Coventry counter; fitting is offered as an option and priced separately in the catalogue.

Trade accounts and local service

Approved trade accounts receive pricelist pricing and VAT-exclusive display by default, along with account terms and collection from the Coventry counter. The company also advertises same-day local delivery on mixed paint. FT Paints is part of a group that includes two sister brands: Coat-IQ, focused on floor paints and coatings for foot and vehicle traffic, and JRaces, which works on sports flooring, line marking and safety-standard surfaces.
