UK Sleepers: railway sleepers and timber supplies from Corby

UK Sleepers operates as a timber merchant from The Gas Depot on Weldon Road in Corby, Northamptonshire. The company sells new and reclaimed railway sleepers alongside a broad catalogue of timber products for gardens, landscaping and building work. Its range covers structural and building timber, hardwood flooring, doors and joinery, handcrafted gates and fencing, raised bed and pergola kits, decking components, fixings, treatments and fuels.

The business presents itself as a leading supplier of new railway sleepers and reclaimed sleepers for garden or home use, and as established hardwood suppliers and merchants for timber online. Orders can be placed through the website, which the company describes as available for online ordering with delivery straight to the door.

Railway sleepers in new and reclaimed formats

Railway sleepers form the core of the product range. The catalogue separates new sleepers into untreated, treated and machined categories, and reclaimed sleepers into untreated, creosote-treated and crossing timber types. Named lines include New Untreated European Oak Railway Sleeper, New Azobe (Ekki/Tali) Untreated Railway Sleepers, New Green Treated Softwood Railway Sleepers, New Brown Treated Softwood Railway Sleeper, New Okan Untreated Railway Sleepers, British Larch/Douglas Fir Log Lap and Jigsaw Railway Sleepers, Reclaimed Oak Railway Sleeper and Reclaimed English Softwood Railway Sleeper.

The company explains that garden use of railway sleepers has evolved rapidly, with options ranging from traditional UK sleepers to reclaimed tropical hardwood. It lists applications such as raised beds for flowers or vegetables, steps and garden furniture, and stocks both treated and completely untreated reclaimed products.

Cladding, decking and garden structures

Timber cladding is organised by profile and by species. Profiles include featheredge, rebated featheredge, shadow gap, half lap, shiplap, board on board, tongue and groove, V tongue and groove, rain screen and channel siding. Species and finishes cover redwood, thermowood, green fresh sawn oak, air dried oak, British larch, Douglas fir, kiln dried internal cladding, kiln dried oak, kiln dried Siberian larch, thermoWood internal cladding and solid ash internal cladding. A first grade oak featheredge cladding board is highlighted among the featured products, with various lengths and section sizes available.

For outdoor living, the merchant supplies raised bed kits, decking boards and components, decking joists and fixings, pergola kits and components, and garden features such as oak blocks, garden tables and chairs, suntrap terrace kits and timber bollards in oak or British larch/Douglas fir. Raised bed options include EasyFit green eco-treated softwood kits, slot-together European oak kits and larch/Douglas fir loglap planters.

Structural timber, oak beams and custom cutting

The structural range includes green and air dried oak beams, kiln dried oak boards, solid oak mantels, larch and Douglas fir beams and boards, C16 and C24 carcassing timber, planed square edge timber, dowels, wind braces and roofing shingles. The company also offers standard and bespoke oak framed buildings.

A custom cutting service covers oak beams and boards and larch/Douglas fir beams and boards, with sawn-to-size options. The site states that structural green oak and English larch/Douglas fir are available up to 12.5 metres in length and 450mm in width, and that a round log stock is held to cope with demand.

Gates, fencing and landscaping

Handcrafted gates and gate posts are offered alongside driveway and privacy gates, field gates, gate iron work and timber bollards. Fencing and landscaping products include fencing panels and posts, featheredge board fencing, pegs and stakes, post and rail fencing, picket fencing, oak fencing and machine turned and peeled fencing. The broader landscaping range also covers rustic landscaping oak and softwood beams.
