Cyclestore: an independent cycling shop in Congleton since 1992

Cyclestore is an independent cycling retailer based at the Cycle Centre on West Road in Congleton, Cheshire. The business states that it has been trading since 1992 and describes more than 30 years of experience helping riders of every level find bikes, kit and support. Its range covers road, mountain, gravel, electric and commuter cycling, and it also stocks outdoor clothing and camping equipment.

Authorised dealer for major bike brands

The shop presents itself as an authorised UK dealer for Giant, Specialized and Merida. According to its own description, this means that bikes come with the full manufacturer warranty and genuine parts, and that staff know the ranges in depth. The catalogue also lists bikes from Liv, Kona and Basso, among others.

Cyclestore states that it stocks over 150 bikes across road, mountain, gravel, electric and commuter categories. The bike menu is organised into mountain bikes (full suspension, hardtail and dirt jump), road bikes, gravel and cyclocross, electric bikes (mountain, commuter, road and gravel), hybrid bikes, kids bikes, and frames and framesets.

Clothing, components and outdoor equipment

Beyond complete bikes, the store carries cycling clothing and shoes, protection and eyewear, components, wheels and tyres, ride accessories and workshop equipment. It also has a dedicated outdoor section with jackets, base layers, trousers, gloves, headwear, backpacks, sleeping bags and tents.

The list of brands mentioned on the site is extensive and includes ASSOS, Endura, Rab, Fox, Shimano, SRAM, Kona, Yeti Cycles, Peaty's, Ride Concepts, Giro, MET, Leatt, Schwalbe, Maxxis, Muc-Off and Ortlieb, along with many others. The clothing range covers jerseys, shorts and bibs, tights, jackets and gilets, base layers, socks, gloves and casual wear, plus road and MTB shoes, overshoes and shoe spares.

Services for riders

Cyclestore states that every order ships free within the UK and that every bike is professionally set up before dispatch. The site also advertises a price match promise: it will match the price of online retailers, taking shipping charges into account, but the promise excludes auction sites such as eBay, non-UK competitors and websites that do not operate secure SSL payment systems.

A 10% accessories credit is offered on selected bikes. The credit is earned on qualifying bikes and applied automatically at checkout towards kit. The store also sells gift cards and provides a workshop section with lubrication, cleaning products, hand tools, multi-tools, work stands and wheel building equipment.
