About Chichester Holiday Properties
Chichester Holiday Properties: self-catering lets in and around West Sussex
Chichester Holiday Properties is a small, independent holiday home letting company based in Chichester, West Sussex. It markets a collection of self-catering houses and cottages in and around the county, each described as personally vetted and hand-picked, with the stated criterion that the team only lists homes it would want to stay in itself. The company handles the full guest cycle, from communication and cleaning to check-in, and its locally resident team presents itself as closely familiar with both the properties and the surrounding area.
Types of accommodation in the portfolio
The listings are organised around the kind of trip being planned rather than a single property format. The site groups options for large group accommodation suited to family reunions, birthdays, celebrations and group holidays; small and cosy rural cottages for quiet countryside retreats; and properties positioned for special occasions such as anniversaries and weddings. It also separates family-friendly homes equipped for families of all sizes, dog-friendly rentals, and properties with higher-end facilities, including some with outdoor swimming pools and tennis courts. Further browse categories cover city centre properties, group booking properties, short stay B&B and rural properties.
Booking, availability and pricing
Most of the properties are presented with live prices and availability alongside online booking, and the site includes a search by check-in and check-out dates and party size, plus a separate area for managing an existing booking. A 20% discount is advertised for any stay of seven nights or more. A short stay B&B option also appears among the browse categories.
What is provided on arrival
Each property is described as leaving a welcome pack for guests on arrival. According to the site, the pack contains tea, coffee, sugar, tea towels, washing-up cloths, hand wash, cooking spray, dishwasher tablets, rinse aid, matches, sun cream, tissues, hand sanitiser, bin bags, a scrubbing brush, salt, pepper, fire lighters, pen and tinfoil, along with chocolates and sweets. Shampoo and conditioner are supplied in the bathroom and hand wash at each sink.
Equipment and packs for children
Properties that accept children can be supplied with a travel cot, for which guests must bring their own linen, and a high chair. Two additional packs have been introduced: a Baby Pack for ages 0–2 with a bib overall cover, baby teether, sippy cup, spoon and fork, weaning bowl, plastic plate and bowl, two baby story books, factor 50 sun cream and plasters; and a Kids Pack for ages 2–4 with an overall cover, plastic plate, bowl and cup, children's cutlery set, plasters, factor 50 sun cream, two story books, a colouring book and crayons. These items, like the cots and high chairs, are subject to availability, must be requested before the stay, are offered for short stays only, must be left in the property at the end and are cleaned and sterilised between uses.
Environmental measures in the properties
The company states that it is progressively introducing measures to reduce waste in its rentals. Bed linen and towels are not changed during a stay unless it lasts more than 14 days, and guests are asked to use the recycling and food waste bins. One bath towel and one hand towel are provided per guest, with no extra towels supplied. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are supplied through wall dispensers or refillable bottles filled from five-litre bulk containers, and the empty containers are given to local schools and nurseries for arts and crafts. Tea, sugar and coffee are bought in bulk and dispensed into caddies kept in each property. During cleaning, bin bags are replaced only when necessary, waste such as toilet roll ends and cleaning product bottles is recycled where possible, and washable microfibre cloths are used. One property, The Shed, has an electric vehicle charging unit for guests.
Guest support and local knowledge
The team describes itself as small and friendly, living locally and therefore able to advise on the area and its attractions, with detailed knowledge of each property. The stated aim is to cover the complete service, from guest communication to cleaning and check-in, and the company says it is on call 24 hours a day in case of emergency and available for questions before, during and after a stay. It also reports having built relationships with the property owners whose homes it lets.
