House Of Stars

House Of Stars: a creative hub for young artists in Medway

House Of Stars presents itself as a safe hub where young people and creatives can work together, express themselves freely and connect, supporting one another through art and music. Its activity is organised around three strands —support, publishing and performance— aimed at young artists working across comics, zines, illustration, cosplay, character design, short animation, music, fan art and stickers.

Mentorship and development programmes

Under its support strand, the organisation runs mentorship, creative workshops and development programmes. One example cited on the site is My Manga Medway, a workshop held as part of the River Lit Festival at Sun Pier House in Chatham.

Publishing: books, zines and soundtracks

House Of Stars publishes books, zines, illustrated stories and, occasionally, a game or a soundtrack. Its catalogue includes the Murphy's Adventures series by Nadia Perrotta, with Book 1: It's OK to Feel Lost, Book 2: Perceptions and Book 3: M.U.R.P.H.Y., each listed at £12.00. A collectors pack combines a teaser for Book 3 with a CD by Coor Brow-Obles, and a separate CD with the Book 3 teaser zine is listed at £5.00.

Live performance and music

The performance strand covers live storytelling, cosplay, music and creative shows. The site cites the Murphy's Multiverse performance at the Electric Medway Festival 2025 as an example of this work.

Open call for young creatives

The organisation addresses young artists directly and states that it welcomes submissions of comics, zines, illustrations, cosplay, character design, short animations, music, fan art, stickers and other formats, inviting makers to send in their work.
