About BizMentor

Construction business mentoring built on an operating contractor

BizMentor is a UK business mentoring service aimed at tradespeople and construction company owners. Its programmes are presented as an installation of the same system that its founder, Sviatoslav Jerdetchii (known as Sviat Jay), applies in his own construction business, Craftex. The proposition is aimed at owners who want to move away from working on the tools and towards running a company with structure.

The site frames the offer around two client profiles: tradespeople and growing builders turning over under £500K a year, and established construction companies above £500K. For the first group it describes the typical situation as having the skill but not the system, with income depending on finding the next job and the owner still working on the tools full-time. For the second, it points to inconsistent monthly revenue, fluctuating margins, tight cash flow, the owner still in daily operations and growth dependent on referrals or a small number of clients.

The problems the programmes address

BizMentor identifies six obstacles to scaling a construction company: an inconsistent pipeline with a low win rate, margin and pricing pressure, cash flow instability where payments lag behind immediate costs, operational bottlenecks caused by missing systems, owner dependency, and reactive hiring with leadership gaps. These points form the diagnostic framework the mentoring is built around.

Two accelerators and a shared system

The core offer consists of two four-month accelerator programmes, each capped in size.

  • Construction Business Accelerator — for owners at £150–500K turnover, limited to 20 clients. It covers moving from small jobs to bigger jobs at full price, getting off the tools and building a team. Specific modules include client acquisition without paid ads (outreach, LinkedIn, architects and partners, low-cost lead platforms), pricing for profit and protecting margin, and landing a first high-five-figure job. The team also builds the client's website and installs the Craftex CRM.
  • Main Contractor Accelerator — the flagship for £500K+ turnover, limited to 10 clients. It focuses on winning £100K–£1M+ projects, including finding, pricing and tendering large projects, negotiation and tender decks; cash flow, variations and delivery control on big jobs; and hiring an estimator and a project manager to run the company remotely.

For people just starting out or turning over under £150K, the site points to other programmes, including self-study options from £2,900.

Supporting services

Beyond the accelerators, the service menu lists bid writing and tenders, accreditation and ISO, commercial management and quantity surveying, estimating and pre-construction, marketing and lead generation, and fractional COO and FD support. These are presented as services available alongside the mentoring programmes.

Founder background and Craftex

Sviat Jay is described as having started as a demolition labourer and built Craftex from zero to more than £3M a year in revenue in under four years. According to the site, Craftex has delivered over 150 high-end projects across London and the UK, with individual deal values exceeding £2.5M. Projects named include Portsoken House reception, a Kensington Olympia penthouse and Drake's flagship store. The mentoring is presented as teaching the system developed inside that company.

Deal flow from Craftex

BizMentor states that top-performing clients can receive real Craftex projects. When Craftex receives an enquiry that fits, it is passed to clients doing the work, under Sviat's control. Examples cited include a Brentwood full house renovation, a £200K commercial fit-out in Edinburgh, a £20–40K insurance-funded reinstatement in London E14, a Mayfair gallery fit-out, a salon refurbishment and a 162m² warehouse conversion. The site notes that projects above a £100K budget are run through Craftex, with the client delivering.

Reported client outcomes

The site presents a set of individual case results and states explicitly that these are individual results, not typical or guaranteed. Among them: Adam and Ali, stuck at £500K a year for three years, signed £92K of work in eight days and later closed a £528K project with £180K+ profit; Mark moved from small jobs to a steady pipeline in 3.5 months; Ghennadii went from £2K a month on the tools to £13.5K a month profit in two months, landing a £48K project; Martin moved from £300–600K to £1.5M+ revenue. Other wins listed include a £450K South Kensington tender, a £10K job with £5K upfront, a £39K project in two months and a £15K first deal paid 50% up front.

The site also reports a five-star rating on Trustpilot and cites more than 130 testimonials from UK builders, over 100 businesses scaled, more than ten years in construction and 2,500 client projects. Testimonials are attributed to named clients, including Ghennadi Catansus, Sergey Dimov, Planex Ltd, Iurii Pylypets, Serg Prysiahznyi, Marc Carpiuc and Ihor Hrytsai.
