About Manningham Housing Association
Manningham Housing Association: social housing in Bradford, Keighley and Craven
Manningham Housing Association (MHA) is a registered social landlord that provides affordable homes and housing services to communities in Bradford, Keighley and Craven. The organisation traces its origins to 1986, when it was set up following research by the Bangladeshi Youth Organisation in Bradford into the housing needs of Black and Asian communities. It has since expanded from two properties to a stock of more than 1,400 homes housing over 6,000 residents.
Around 80% of residents are of BME origin, although the association states that it caters for people of all heritage. Its stated core mission is to provide good quality affordable homes and services for those in the greatest need in the Bradford district. More than two-thirds of its homes have three bedrooms or more.
Housing stock and growth plans
The association describes a Growth Strategy intended to continue adding much-needed homes. It reports an annual turnover of £8.5 million and a staff base of 44 colleagues, and characterises its customer satisfaction levels as consistently high and in the top quartile compared with the social housing sector. It summarises its ambition as delivering a "hassle-free" housing service.
Services for tenants
The website organises its tenant-facing activity around several core functions:
- Finding a home and browsing available properties.
- Paying rent, with access to a tenant portal (MYMHA).
- Reporting a repair, including a dedicated route for damp and mould.
- Information and news for tenants, plus upcoming events.
- A domestic abuse section and a STAIRs service listed in the main navigation.
Governance and legal status
MHA is incorporated as a Community Benefit Society with registration number 25548R and is a Registered Social Landlord with registration number L3736. It is exempt from registration with the Charity Commission because it is a charity rather than a registered charity.
Published documents and accountability
The site lists a set of corporate documents, including a 40th anniversary special edition book, a Corporate Strategy 2026–2029, an Annual Sustainability Report 2024-25, annual reports and financial statements for 2025 and 2026, and an Asset Management Strategy 2025–2028. The association also states a position against modern slavery, human trafficking and child labour, which it says will not be tolerated in its own operations or supply chains.
Teams and organisation
The association presents its structure through named teams: Board Members, Cooptees, Members, Executive Team, Customer Service Team, Neighbourhood Team, Estates Team, Income Team, Community Engagement Team, Property Services and Health & Safety Team, and Resources Team. It also marks 40 years of community activity, a milestone reflected in its news and publications.
