Lifestyle Furniture UK: solid hardwood furniture sold online from Bolton

Lifestyle Furniture UK is an online-only retailer of solid wood furniture based in the North West of England, with its registered address on Chorley New Road in Bolton, Lancashire. The company presents itself as one of the leading online retailers of solid hardwood furniture and states that it specialises in oak, pine, Indian and painted furniture. Because it sells exclusively through its website, it argues that it can price its ranges keenly without compromising on quality.

The catalogue is organised by room and by wood type. Bedroom lines include beds, bedside tables, blanket boxes, chests of drawers, dressing tables and wardrobes; the living room section covers coffee tables, nest of tables, lamp tables, TV cabinets, bookcases, CD and DVD units and mirrors; the dining room brings together dining sets, ceramic and wooden dining tables, dining chairs, dressers, display cabinets, sideboards, wine racks and mirrors; and the hallway range comprises console tables, cupboards, telephone tables and storage units.

Named collections and wood types

The retailer groups much of its stock into named collections rather than selling isolated pieces. Among the ranges listed are Jali Sheesham, Cuba Sheesham, Chunky Pine, Country Pine, Cadley Oak, Enfield Oak, Danbury Oak, Skioa Oak, Harkus Oak, Howland Rough Sawn Oak, Parquet Oak, Loraine Natural Oak, Elegans Natural Oak, Harlyn Painted, Harlyn Natural Oak, Industrial Acacia, Saxbie Oak, Barton Oak, Stoneford Oak and a line of wooden, fabric dining chairs and benches. Ceramic dining tables appear as a category of their own, alongside Scandinavian and mid-century styled furniture.

By material, the shop divides its offer into oak, pine, sheesham and painted furniture, and it supplies wood samples for customers who want to check a finish before buying. Two ranges are described in more detail on the site: the Cuba Sheesham collection combines clean contemporary lines with an exotic dark finish and includes more eclectic pieces in geometric shapes, while the Rustic Oak range is presented as suited to a traditional, cosy country cottage look.

Hand finishing and made-to-order pieces

According to the company, none of its furniture is flat-pack: every piece is crafted from natural wood and hand finished by skilled craftsmen, so no two items are exactly alike. It states that it designs its own products and has them hand crafted and made exclusively for it. For some ranges the retailer also offers custom-designed pieces on request, which customers can discuss by telephone.

The site's lookbook illustrates the type of stock with specific items and prices, including a Danbury Oak dressing table set at £499, a Danbury Oak three-drawer bedside cabinet at £150, a Danbury Oak low foot double bed at £515 and a Danbury Oak two-over-three chest of drawers at £449. From the Harlyn Natural Oak range it lists a lamp table at £140, a coffee table with two drawers at £236, a large sideboard at £449, a dining chair at £126, a nest of three tables at £184, a cabinet at £211 and a 125/165 cm extending dining table at £370.

Delivery, reviews and commercial terms

The shop advertises free delivery on orders over £400 and refers to more than 1,800 customer reviews. It also promotes an autumn sale with a 60% discount, presented on the site as a time-limited offer. Alongside the product pages, the company publishes sections on furniture care, furniture characteristics, delivery, returns and exchanges, and a price promise, and it invites visitors to sign up for emails to hear about exclusive deals.
