Virginia Carmen Designs, an independent florist in Bolton

Virginia Carmen Designs Ltd is an independent flower shop on Manchester Road, in the Bolton area, run by florist Virginia and her team. The business presents itself as a small local operation in which every order is arranged by hand, from a relaxed hand-tied posy to a bold centrepiece designed to stand out. The shop states 35 years of experience in floristry and also describes itself as offering event styling alongside its retail flower work.

Blooms are described as hand-selected and seasonal, and each design is made up fresh on the day it is sent. The shop frames its offer around the idea that flowers mark both celebrations and difficult moments, and its catalogue is organised accordingly.

Bouquets and gift flowers by occasion

The online shop groups its flowers by the reason for sending them. The range covers birthday flowers, new baby arrangements in soft pinks and blues, anniversary designs including romantic red rose work, and messages of congratulations, thanks and get-well wishes. A romantic section and a florist's-choice option sit alongside seasonal collections that the site lists as Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day flowers.

Among the best-selling designs shown at the time of writing were Citrus Glow and Pure & Beautiful at £60.00, Electric Love and Vivid Delight at £49.50, Golden Fiesta at £80.00, Sweet Sentiments at £30.00, Festival Brights at £50.00, Timeless Romance at £70.00, Wildly Wonderful at £60.00, Radiant Wishes at £55.00, Opulent Love at £250.00 and Amber Glow at £45.00. These are catalogue listings and prices rather than a permanent offer.

Sympathy, funeral and wedding work

Sympathy and funeral tributes form a distinct part of the business. The shop describes these pieces as created gently and with care, and lists posies and baskets, wreaths, sprays, crosses, sheaves, lettered designs, pillows and cushions, and heart-shaped wraps. Bespoke lettered designs are named specifically as a way of honouring someone who has died.

Wedding flowers are offered as a separate line, presented on the site alongside the funeral section as one of the shop's specialist areas rather than as part of the general gift catalogue.

Delivery, collection and ordering

Local delivery covers Bolton and the neighbouring towns of Kearsley, Farnworth, Clifton and Swinton, together with many of the neighbourhoods in between. Same-day delivery is available for local orders placed before the daily cut-off, which the site sets at 2pm; customers can also choose next-day or a nominated date at checkout. The shop suggests entering a postcode during checkout to confirm whether a street falls within the delivery area.

Orders can be placed online, which the business describes as taking around two minutes and using secure online ordering, or collected in person through a Click & Collect option at the Manchester Road shop. The site also invites customers to telephone the shop to discuss a choice before ordering.

Reputation and reviews

The site displays a rating of Excellent but, at the time of writing, stated that it had no reviews yet, so no customer feedback is recorded there. The business presents itself as top-rated in its own promotional wording; no independent assessment is included in the material.
