Central Sports UK

Central Sports UK, a racket sports retailer built from three independent shops

Central Sports UK describes itself as the United Kingdom's specialist racket sports retailer and an official retail partner of Badminton England. The business supplies badminton, tennis, padel and pickleball equipment to players, clubs, schools and coaches across the country. Its origins are presented as the union of three independent shops: Maurice Robinson Sports (1947), Central Sports (1983) and YC Sports (1983).

The company states it is the appointed retailer of the Yonex All England Championships and presents itself as one of the few UK specialists combining a physical racket-fitting service with next-working-day national delivery from its stores in Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Cardiff and Hereford.

Badminton at the core of the catalogue

Badminton is the area the retailer treats as its specialty. The range covers rackets from Yonex, Victor, Li-Ning, Babolat and Carlton, from beginner to professional level, and the site organises the selection through tools such as a racket finder that sorts models by level (advanced, intermediate, beginner), by price under £100 and by training use. The Yonex range is further divided into families according to playing profile, including the Astrox power line and the Nanoflare speed line.

Footwear is grouped by men, women, unisex, junior and wide fit, with brands such as Yonex, Hundred, Babolat, Victor, Li-Ning, On Running and Hoka. Shuttles are offered in feather, synthetic and hybrid versions from Yonex, RSL, Yehlex, Victor and Babolat. RSL is presented as the official shuttle of Badminton England since 1928 and as the shuttle used in Badminton England tournaments.

Tennis, padel and pickleball

Beyond badminton, the catalogue includes adult and junior tennis rackets from Yonex, Wilson, Head and Babolat, demo tennis rackets, tennis shoes for men, women and juniors, and balls classified by colour (yellow, green, orange and red). Tennis accessories, coach and club support and a dedicated blog complete this section.

For padel, the retailer lists rackets, shoes, balls and bags from brands including Bullpadel, NOX, Babolat, Head, Adidas, Black Crown and StarVie. In pickleball it stocks paddles from Selkirk, JOOLA, Engage and Paddletek, among other brands available in the UK.

Stringing, fitting and kit building

One of the services highlighted is professional restringing carried out in store, with a full range of strings, string sets, reels, stringing machines and tools. Selected Yonex rackets include free expert restringing, with the customer choosing the string. The company also mentions custom string-tension setups for tournament-level players and a custom kit-building service, alongside teamwear options such as the Yonex Kit Builder.

Badminton England membership benefits

Badminton England members are offered an exclusive 5% discount on standard web prices, and their primary club receives 5% credit on every purchase. The site asks members to use their Badminton England registered email address to access member-exclusive pricing.

Brands and additional product lines

The retailer lists a broad brand portfolio that also includes JNICE, Apacs, Ashaway, Aixo and Zoku. Its clothing section covers teamwear, jackets, T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, hoodies, shorts, skorts, sports bras, joggers, leggings, tracksuits and socks, with collections such as the Yonex All England 1899 Collection and Yonex 2026 Wardrobe. Accessories include grips, grip powder, water bottles, towels, stencil ink and cards, wristbands, sweatbands, badminton nets, keyrings and hair accessories, plus recovery and taping products. The site also lists other sports categories such as football, rugby, cricket, hockey, darts, swim and basketball.

Stores and national delivery

The business operates from Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Cardiff and Hereford, and the site announced the opening of an NBC Milton Keynes store. Racket fitting is carried out in these physical shops, while orders can be shipped nationally with next-working-day delivery. The company positions its in-house staff as players who can advise beginners buying a first racket, club players upgrading equipment and competitors seeking precision restringing.
