Security Surveillance Systems Ltd

Building security for social housing

Security Surveillance Systems Ltd, also known as SS Group, supplies integrated electrical and mechanical security solutions from Bickerstaffe in Lancashire. The company says it has worked with local authorities and social housing associations for more than twenty-five years. It approaches a project from the initial survey and design through installation, project management and subsequent repairs.

Doors, entry systems and site protection

A central part of the business is its security door and screen range. SS Group says it designs and manufactures many of the doors it installs, a capability developed after moving to purpose-built premises in 2003. Its wider offer includes door-entry and access-control equipment, security gates and fencing, CCTV, curtain-wall systems, windows, and emergency or communal lighting. The company can also fit access-control products made by other manufacturers.

That mix of in-house production and external equipment allows a project to combine entrance protection with the controls and monitoring needed across a larger building or estate. SS Group also advertises responsive repairs and maintenance, which matter to housing providers managing security systems after installation.

Working with public-sector clients

The company presents its experience in public-sector tenders and partnership work with housing associations as a major part of its business. Its website lists Secured by Design accreditation and says it is an NICEIC-approved contractor; these are the company's stated credentials rather than a substitute for checking the current scope of accreditation when commissioning work. The listed address is at Boundary Farm Complex on Grave Yard Lane in Bickerstaffe.
