About Quayside Conservatories

Bespoke hardwood joinery from Beccles, Suffolk

Quayside Conservatories designs and manufactures made-to-measure hardwood orangeries, conservatories, roof lanterns, garden rooms, greenhouses, porches, windows and doors. The company was established in April 1994 and operates from former boatbuilding workshops on the banks of the River Waveney in Beccles, on the Suffolk and Norfolk border. Its team was assembled from local construction, joinery and boatbuilding trades.

Products are made using traditional joinery methods. The hardwood comes from certified, sustainable forests and is largely supplied in an engineered form, strip laminated and finger jointed for greater stability and strength. Every product is factory sprayed in the customer's chosen colour using a modern microporous water-borne coating system.

Orangeries, conservatories and glazed extensions

The range of timber-built structures includes orangeries with decorative pillars and ornate cornice details, conservatories intended to add living space, garden rooms conceived as private retreats or entertaining areas, greenhouses, and custom-designed porches. Bespoke hardwood roof lanterns are also manufactured to bring natural light into a room.

Windows, doors and understairs storage

The window and door range covers traditional styles as well as French doors, folding sliding doors, entrance doors and MultiFold bi-fold doors. The company also offers bespoke understairs storage and a conservatory upgrade service. Windows and doors can be supplied in high-performance Accoya timber, which the company states offers an extended service life of 60 years or more.

Retail, trade and nationwide supply

Quayside Conservatories supplies directly to retail customers and also through a network of trading partners across the UK, including conservatory installation companies, architects, building companies and specifiers. The company describes a wealth of experience in the manufacture and supply of quality hardwood products and states that it continually develops new products and improves the efficiency of existing ones.

Design, planning and customer guidance

The process begins with a discussion of requirements to arrive at a design and style suited to the property and lifestyle. The company assists with queries relating to Planning Permission, Building Regulations, Conservation Areas and Listed Buildings, and returns costings within a few working days. It is a full member of Home Improvement Protection (HIP).
