The Bed Crafters

The Bed Crafters: handmade beds and mattresses in Batley

The Bed Crafters is a bed retailer and manufacturer based on Bradford Road in Birstall, Batley. The shop presents itself as a source of "affordable luxury" beds, with a catalogue built around divan beds, ottoman beds, bed frames, children's beds, mattresses, headboards and bedroom accessories. The company states that its products are handmade in the UK and that it can produce bespoke beds to customer requirements because it is a manufacturer.

Bed frames and sleigh beds

The bed frame range includes single, small double, double, king and super king sizes. Named models in the catalogue include Berlin, Florida, Athens, Panama, Sydney, Lisbon with Wings, Moscow and Rio, with prices starting from £242.99 for several frames. The site also highlights a sleigh bed line, described as having large headboards and footboards balanced by a smooth silhouette, suitable for both modern and traditional interiors.

Divan and ottoman storage beds

Divan beds are organised by size, from single to super king. The ottoman section includes models such as Havana, Abu Dhabi, Dili, Giza, Marigot, Minsk, Tehran, Tirana and Tashken Wingback, with prices from £290.69. The site also lists a front-lift opening base from £269.99. These beds combine a sleeping surface with storage accessed by lifting the base.

Mattresses for support and posture

The mattress catalogue covers orthopaedic, pocket sprung, memory foam and pillowtop types. Named lines include Belgravia Ortho, Belgravia Ortho V50 Memory, Chelsea Backcare 2000, Hamstead Supreme 3000, Islington Pocket Spring Pillow Top, Kensington Super Ortho and Knightsbridge Memory Foam. The company presents these mattresses as providing firm support and helping to maintain spinal alignment during sleep. Prices in the catalogue start at £170.99.

Headboards, panels and bedroom accessories

Beyond beds and mattresses, the shop sells headboards and bed panels, as well as tables, footstools and storage boxes. Free fabric swatches are offered so customers can check materials before ordering.

Buying, delivery and payment

Orders can be placed online with payment by Mastercard, Visa, PayPal, Amazon Pay, Klarna or American Express. The site advertises 0% interest pay-monthly options and fast free delivery, with optional assembly and removal of old beds or mattresses. A one-year warranty is mentioned, and the company states that its products conform to UK fire and safety regulations. Returns are accepted under a "Return for Any Reason" policy. Orders can be tracked through delivery service details sent by email, and shipping address changes are handled by email.

Customer feedback and practical information

The website displays testimonials from customers who mention the delivery and setup service, including the removal of old beds, and the quality of a sleigh bed. These are individual accounts rather than an aggregate rating. The company also publishes a brochure and a blog, and offers a newsletter for updates and new arrivals.
