Battery Group

Battery Group, an online battery shop in Barnsley

Battery Group operates as an online retailer of batteries and related energy products, presenting itself as a shop for "every battery" with a catalogue of more than 3,000 products for autonomous energy supply. The company is based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and combines its web store with a physical point where customers can visit and, according to the site, obtain a free battery test.

The range is organised by application rather than by product alone, so buyers can start from the vehicle or device they need to power and then narrow down by technology, part number or capacity.

Batteries organised by vehicle and application

The vehicle section covers starter batteries for cars, trucks and commercial vehicles, motorbikes, motorhomes and RVs, and boats and marine use. Within these groups the catalogue distinguishes starter batteries from dual-purpose and supply batteries, and allows filtering by vehicle type, technology or part number. Car key batteries and batteries for industrial machines are also listed, including cleaning machines, forklifts and lifting platforms.

Leisure, golf, garden and fishing power

A dedicated leisure section groups AGM, gel, lithium and standard leisure batteries. It extends to golf with batteries for buggies and carts, trolleys, lithium golf batteries and rangefinder batteries, and to garden equipment with small lawn mower batteries and lawn mower starter batteries. For fishing, the shop lists bait boat batteries and fishing trolley batteries. Portable power stations from Anker, EcoFlow and Bluetti appear in this same area.

Alarm, security and mobility batteries

For security installations, Battery Group stocks batteries for intruder alarms, including wired alarm panels, wireless alarm sensors and siren or bell box units, as well as fire alarm batteries for control panels and smoke or heat detectors. Emergency lighting, CCTV and security equipment are also covered, with DVR/NVR backup batteries, camera power backups, door entry system batteries, access panel batteries and garage door batteries. These can be filtered by capacity bands ranging from 1Ah–3Ah up to 21Ah and above.

The mobility range addresses mobility scooters, power wheelchairs and stair and bathtub lifts, alongside chargers. It can be browsed by mobility brand or by capacity, from 1Ah to 5Ah through to 81Ah and above.

Solar systems and components

The solar catalogue is the broadest technical area of the shop. It includes solar kits for vehicle conversion, off-grid installations, EcoFlow power kits, grid-tied and hybrid systems, and portable power station kits. Panels are offered in portable, rigid, semi-flexible and flexible formats, as well as in bundles. The components listed cover hybrid, grid tie, off grid, AC coupled and micro inverters, plus optimisers, solar charge controllers, inverter chargers, solar storage batteries, transformers, DC converters and systems, battery isolators and combiners, installation accessories and system monitoring.

Chargers, accessories and clearance

Beyond batteries and solar equipment, the store sells chargers for mobility devices, electric vehicles, lead acid, gel, AGM and lithium batteries, and trickle chargers. A breakdown essentials section brings together additives, lubricants, engine oil, vehicle cleaning products, terminal adapters, cables, testers, booster powerbanks and other accessories. A clearance area is also maintained.

Retail services and purchasing

The site states that retail customers can receive a free battery test and that next working day delivery is available anywhere in the UK. Payment is accepted by major credit and debit cards, and prices are shown in pounds sterling with a euro option. The company also provides a battery finder tool, a capacity calculator and a battery terminology reference, and handles purchase orders. A blog and a newsletter are part of the site.

The physical store is located at Unit 6, Nexus Capitol Court, Barnsley, S75 3UD. Sales enquiries are handled by telephone on 01226 885050, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
