BK Services

BK Services, ironmongery and fittings supplier in Baldock

BK Services Ltd is a supplier of furniture fittings, kitchen accessories and architectural ironmongery based at Manor Farm Mews, Church Lane, in Baldock, Hertfordshire. The company describes itself as a one-stop supplier of ironmongery and associated accessories, serving both trade buyers and direct customers. It began trading in March 1998 as a Hafele stockist and has since added other suppliers to its portfolio, presenting itself as an official stockist of Hafele and Hettich products.

Its catalogue is organised into broad product families that cover kitchen fittings, accessories and appliances; furniture fittings for living and commercial settings; handles and knobs; tools and consumables; sliding and folding door gear; architectural ironmongery; and lighting and electrical fittings. The company states that it keeps a large stock across these lines and that next-day delivery is available on its kitchen range.

Kitchen fittings, accessories and appliances

The kitchen section brings together worktops and splashbacks, storage and accessories, bins, ventilation, sinks and taps, and appliances. This is the range the company presents as its most delivery-oriented, noting that orders can be built without long waits.

Furniture fittings for living and commercial spaces

Under furniture fittings the catalogue lists cabinet hinges, connectors and shelf supports, cabinet accessories, flap fittings and stays, table fittings, office furniture fittings and accessories, shop fittings, sanitary and bathroom fittings, drawers, locks, catches and bolts, and bedroom fittings. The breadth of this section reflects the company's positioning towards both domestic furniture work and commercial fit-out projects.

Handles, doors and architectural hardware

Handles and knobs are grouped separately, covering cabinet handles and knobs, door handles, window handles and Gola systems. The architectural ironmongery range includes door hinges, door locks, door closers and controls, door entry systems, glass door fittings, window fittings, and safety signs and handrail brackets. Sliding and folding doors form their own category, with heavy-duty sliding and folding door gear, moveable wall systems, and gear intended for furniture as well as for larger installations.

Tools, consumables and electrical lines

The tools and consumables range covers screws, tools and accessories, sealants and adhesives, maintenance and packaging, safety equipment and workwear, furniture care and repair, and fixings and fasteners. A separate lighting and electrical section lists electrical accessories, TV cabinet lifts and brackets, and lighting.

Brands and sourcing

Beyond Hafele and Hettich, the company lists a long roster of brands available through its catalogue, including Savekers, Frank Allart, Sovereign, Mila, Lewis, Royde & Tucker, Carlisle Brass, Eurolite, Eurospec, Finger Tip Design, Blum, Cooke Bros., Justor, Chasmond, Hardex, LDL, Henderson, Comyn Ching, Hoppe, Sealmaster, Dixon International, A & H Brass, Primalite and Herbert Direct. It also states that it continues to add products and suppliers, and that it will search for items a customer cannot source, suggesting alternatives when a product is no longer available.

Trade orientation and customer service

The company frames its offer around competitive pricing and a service it describes as highly regarded, and invites enquiries for quotations on required products. Its stated audience spans construction, renovation and DIY projects, with products presented as suitable for door hardware, hinges, locks and related architectural fittings.
