Cloud Aqua

Cloud Aqua: aquatic plants and aquascaping equipment for planted tanks

Cloud Aqua is a United Kingdom-based online store specialising in supplies for planted aquariums. Its catalogue combines live aquatic plants, rimless ultra-clear tanks, LED lighting, CO2 systems and the supporting hardware and decor needed to build and maintain an aquascape. The shop presents itself as a source of "exclusive plants & equipment" and organises its range around the idea of building an aquarium from scratch.

Plant range and collector species

Plants form the core of the offer. The store lists common and specialist species across several categories, including foreground, midground, background, carpeting and floating plants, grasses, mosses, epiphytes and bulb plants. Named examples in the catalogue include Vallisneria spiralis, Anubias nana 'Petite', Ludwigia glandulosa, Microsorum pteropus (Java Fern) and its 'Narrow' form, Elodea (Egeria) densa, Rotala ramosior 'Florida' and Bucephalandra 'Kedagang Purple'.

A separate "Exclusive & Limited" section groups rare collector plants that the shop describes as difficult to source. Among them are Centrolepis Drummondiana 'Blood Vomit', Bucephalandra 'Black Angel', Limnophila Sp. 'Orange Laos', Xyris (Red) Difformis Var. Difformis, Rotala Sahyadrica, Lysimachia parvifolia and several Anubias cultivars such as 'Var King', 'Mini Stardust' and 'Giant Stardust'. Some of these entries appear marked as sold out, and a few carry reduced prices, for example Anubias 'Var King' at £29.95 from £39.95.

Tanks, lighting and CO2 equipment

Beyond plants, the store stocks hardware for setting up and running a planted tank. The aquarium line includes ultra-clear rimless fish tanks, offered in sizes such as 45 cm and 60 cm, alongside cabinets and stands. Lighting covers standard and RGB LED units, including the NETLEA Series-5 AT5 and Series-6 AT6 RGB aquarium lights and the Weekaqua A-Series A430 Pro. CO2 systems, filters, pipes and fittings, lily pipes and skimmers, liquid fertilisers, root tabs, aqua soil substrates and maintenance tools complete the equipment range.

Brands named in the catalogue include Tropica for plants and substrates, 2HR Aquarist for fertilisers and root tabs, NETLEA and Weekaqua for lighting and pipework, and CloudAqua's own label for a large part of the plant stock.

Guides and plant care resources

The site publishes a set of care and inspiration guides aimed at planted-aquarium keepers. Topics include choosing and growing aquatic plants, the differences between submersed, emersed and tissue-culture plant forms, CO2 supplementation, introducing new plants to a tank, and setting up a planted aquarium. Further guides cover growing rosette, stem and epiphyte plants, improving a tank with lighting, and an inspirational planted aquarium gallery.
