Polti: steam appliances for ironing, cleaning and coffee

Polti is an Italian company that has built its product range around steam technology. Its UK website presents a catalogue of household appliances for ironing, cleaning and coffee preparation, alongside accessories and promotions. The company describes 45 years of "made in Italy" passion for steam and positions steam as an effective ally for everyday cleaning and home care.

The site lists several product families under registered brand names: Polti Vaporella, Polti Vaporetto, Polti Moppy, Polti Unico, Polti Sani System and Polti Cimex Eradicator. Each corresponds to a different application, from ironing to floor sanitising and pest control.

Ironing systems

Under the Vaporella brand, Polti offers steam generator irons with boiler, steam generator irons and steam irons. The range includes models such as the Vaporella Instant VI50.40, with an 8-bar pump and a 600 g/min steam pulse, and the La Vaporella XT120C and XT100C, which feature boilers of 8.5 and 7.5 bar respectively, unlimited autonomy, detachable or pull-out tanks, multiple programmes and a patented multidirectional soleplate. The La Vaporella line is presented as the "Made in Italy" steam generator iron with boiler, a product concept the company dates back to 1978.

For garment care away from the ironing board, the Vaporella Vertical Styler GSM50R is a handheld steamer with a foldable handle, aluminium soleplate, a 30-second heat-up time and a carrying bag.

Cleaning and sanitising equipment

The Vaporetto family covers cylinder steam cleaners, spot cleaners and steam mops. Models shown include the Vaporetto SV660_Style, a double-function steam mop and portable steam cleaner with an Extra Steam function and 19 accessories, and the Vaporetto Pro 95_Turbo Flexi, a 5-bar boiler model with Eco and Turbo steam functions, unlimited autonomy, adjustable steam at 120 g/min, 14 accessories and a Vaporflexi brush. The Vaporetto Pro 100 Eco Power is described as dissolving dirt and sanitising surfaces while eliminating up to 99.99% of microorganisms without chemicals.

Polti also lists the RollySteam WD10, a wet and dry corded vacuum cleaner that the company says eliminates up to 99.999% of bacteria and comes with two rollers, two filters, a heated charging base and a cleaning tool. The Moppy brand is presented as a cordless steam mop for sanitising surfaces without detergent, while Unico is a steam vacuum cleaner that vacuums, sanitises and dries surfaces.

For professional or specialist applications, the Sani System is described as a Steam Disinfection Device (SDD) that kills up to 99.999% of microorganisms. The Cimex Eradicator is an insecticide-free device for eliminating bed bugs and their eggs using steam.

Coffee machines and accessories

The catalogue extends to coffee, with coffee machines and E.S.E. pods. One example is the Coffea P10S manual espresso machine, which works with ground coffee and E.S.E. pods and measures 13 cm wide. A separate accessories section and a refurbished section are also part of the online store.

Commercial approach and support

Polti sells through its UK online store, with free shipping on orders over £49.99 and the option to pay in three instalments with PayPal. The company operates a customer service line and maintains a newsletter programme that offers a 10% discount code on a first purchase. The site also carries a notice warning that Polti will never request payment details, passwords or verification codes through private messaging channels, and that it does not promote investments or the sale of gold coins or financial products.

Polti presents itself as combining Italian quality, constant innovation and specialist support. Its editorial content covers topics such as vertical steaming, energy-efficient appliances, steam cleaning for hospitality and medical environments, and bed bug treatment. The company also states a longstanding commitment to sports sponsorship, particularly cycling, through its support of Team Polti Kometa.

Recognition and industry links

The site reports that in August 2022 the Polti Vaporetto SV4 series mops were recognised by Which? as a Best Buy, with the organisation describing the product as "The best steam cleaner we've tested". Polti also states that it works alongside the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) in the UK.
