About Appliance Kings
Appliance Kings: domestic appliance repairs across three counties
Appliance Kings is a repair service for household appliances operating across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The company states that it works exclusively on domestic machines and does not take on commercial equipment. Its offer centres on same-day attention where a slot is free, a published call-out price and a written six-month guarantee on parts and labour.
Jobs can be arranged by phone, by email or through an online booking form in which the customer selects the appliance, the address and a time slot. The site describes the process as taking about a minute. The engineer who attends carries out the diagnosis during the visit, and the fault identification is included in the call-out rather than billed separately.
Fifteen appliance types handled
The repair catalogue covers washing machines, tumble dryers, washer dryers, dishwashers, ovens, cookers, hobs, range cookers, fridges, freezers, fridge freezers, American fridge freezers, microwaves, extractor hoods and wine coolers. Both freestanding and integrated units are accepted, and the company says its vans stock a wide range of spares so that most jobs are completed on the first visit.
Each appliance category has its own fault list on the site. Examples given include bearings on washing machines, thermostats, heaters and belts on tumble dryers, condenser blockages on washer dryers, drainage and heating problems on dishwashers, elements and fans on ovens, hotplates on cookers, touch controls on induction, ceramic and gas hobs, and ice makers on American fridge freezers. Range cooker work is described with reference to Rangemaster, Stoves and Belling, and the brand list also names Bosch, Neff, Siemens, AEG, Zanussi, Electrolux, Miele, Samsung, LG, Hotpoint, Indesit, Beko, Whirlpool, Hoover, Candy and Smeg, among 34 brands in total.
Published call-out prices
The company publishes a fixed call-out structure that covers the visit, the diagnosis and the labour, with parts charged separately and quoted for approval before any work begins. The rates shown are £90 for a standard appliance such as a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, hob or cooker; £90 for any oven, built-in or freestanding, with integrated ovens not charged at the integrated rate; £100 for integrated appliances, which have to be removed from the units first; and £110 for cooker hoods, range cookers and American fridge freezers. If the appliance cannot be fixed, the customer pays the call-out and nothing further, according to the site.
From diagnosis to a tested repair
The stated workflow begins with the customer supplying the appliance type, make and model, the symptoms and any error code shown on the display. The engineer then tests the machine to identify the underlying cause rather than working from the symptom alone. Before work starts, the customer receives a firm total covering parts and labour and nothing proceeds without approval. Once the repair is done, the appliance is run to confirm the fault is resolved, integrated units are refitted, and packaging and old parts are removed.
Supporting material on the site includes a library of more than 90 decoded fault codes, a repair cost guide, a section on whether to repair or replace, and a guide to hard water described as a local cause of appliance failure. The site also lists 46 answered questions in its FAQ section.
Additional services and maintenance
- A maintenance plan priced at £19.99 a month.
- Tumble dryer deep cleaning from £35.
- A service aimed at landlords and letting agents.
- PAT testing listed as coming soon.
The company also sells appliances, with the same fifteen categories offered for purchase alongside the repair work.
Coverage and job record
The service area is set out town by town. In Cambridgeshire it names Cambridge, Ely, St Ives, St Neots, Huntingdon and Cambourne; in Hertfordshire, Royston, Stevenage, Hitchin and Bishop's Stortford; and in Bedfordshire, Bedford, Ampthill and Flitwick. The site refers to 50 areas covered in total.
A weekly job diary records completed repairs with the appliance, the fault and the town. The entry shown for 17 October 2026 describes a Grundig/Beko dishwasher not cleaning properly in Stevenage. The site also displays customer reviews attributed to Trustpilot and Google, several of them naming George as the attending engineer and referring to dishwashers, tumble dryers, ovens, washing machines, cookers, extractor hoods and fridge freezers.
