Clyde Kitchens

Clyde Kitchens, fitted kitchen design and installation in Glasgow

Clyde Kitchens is a kitchen retailer based at Chapelhall Industrial Estate in Airdrie, on the outskirts of Glasgow, where it runs a central showroom about a mile from junction 6 of the M8. The company presents itself as a family-run business and states that its team brings together more than 50 years of combined experience in kitchen retail. Its activity covers the design, supply and fitting of kitchens, and it also supplies worktops and appliances as part of a complete installation.

The showroom is presented as the place to see the ranges and finishes in person, and the company offers a free home design consultation in which a designer discusses the layout, brings door, worktop and handle samples, and works to the customer's budget. The company states that the visit carries no obligation and that customer details are not shared with third parties.

Six kitchen styles

The catalogue is organised around six ranges, each available in a choice of colours and finishes and with either traditional handles or a handleless design:

• Gloss kitchens: high-gloss doors in colours ranging from white and grey to black and brighter tones, described as durable and easy to clean, with reflective surfaces that help brighten smaller rooms.
• Contemporary kitchens: clean lines and practical layouts for open-plan or smaller rooms, built with rigid cabinets and modern hardware.
• Traditional kitchens: painted finishes, natural wood grains, shaker styles and modern country designs, with premium worktops and integrated appliances.
• Modern designer kitchens: high-gloss, matt and handleless options in on-trend colours, planned around family use, open-plan entertaining or compact spaces.
• Painted kitchens: handcrafted-style cabinetry in painted finishes, from soft neutrals to bold colours, including combinations of two or more shades.
• Handleless kitchens: matt or high-gloss finishes with no protruding handles, presented as a way to create the impression of more space in compact and open-plan layouts.

Appliances and worktops

Kitchens can be completed with appliances from brands the company names as Neff, Bosch, Rangemaster, Belling, Stoves, Prima and Teka. The range described includes integrated ovens, induction hobs, extractor fans, boiling water taps and wine coolers, as well as traditional range cookers. For work surfaces, Clyde Kitchens supplies Granite, Silestone and Corian.

Full project management

Beyond supplying cabinets, the company states that it manages the whole installation. That includes removing the old kitchen, fitting the new cabinets, handling electrics, plumbing and gas work, completing tiling and plastering, fitting the floor and installing a new ceiling where needed. Waste material is removed at the end of the job, so the customer deals with a single contractor rather than coordinating separate trades.

Payment terms and finance

According to the information published by the company, a £250 deposit is enough to place an order, with no large upfront payment, and the price is held for up to 12 months from the deposit. Professional fitting is included on every Clyde Kitchen over £7,495. The company also states that it keeps customers updated with a daily phone call on progress.

For spreading the cost, Clyde Kitchens works with Stax, which gives access to a panel of multiple lenders through a single application. A finance calculator is available, and a decision is described as taking as little as 60 seconds, subject to affordability.
