Bon Accord Glass

Bon Accord Glass: five decades of home improvements in Aberdeenshire

Bon Accord Glass is a home improvement company based in Aberdeen that has been trading since 1974. Its own account describes fifty years of customer service and product development, during which the range has grown from windows and doors to include replacement conservatory roofs, roofline work and fitted kitchens. The company presents itself as serving Aberdeen and Dundee, with Aberdeenshire named as its core territory.

The business operates a showroom in Aberdeen where the full product range is displayed and where sales consultants discuss options with customers. It also publishes case studies of completed local projects, including installations of grey Extreme windows with a solid core door, a glass roof conservatory with bi-folding doors, and grey Envisage flush windows with a French door.

Windows across materials and opening styles

Glazing is the longest-standing part of the catalogue. The window range covers uPVC, timber and aluminium frames, and the company also lists Origin windows. Within uPVC it markets a line called Extreme, which it says exceeds the performance and security standards of most uPVC designs. Timber windows are presented as offering a traditional appearance alongside contemporary performance, while slim-frame aluminium is positioned as a more affordable option.

• Casement, flush, tilt and turn, and sash window styles
• Double, triple and secondary glazing options
• Ten-year guarantee on products, covering moving and non-moving parts

Doors for entrances and garden access

The door catalogue spans front and back doors, composite, uPVC, timber and aluminium doors, stable doors, bi-folding doors, French doors, patio doors and porches. Composite doors are highlighted for strength, stable doors for households with children or animals because the top and bottom halves open independently, and patio doors for space-saving access. Bi-folding doors are presented as a way of connecting indoor and outdoor areas, and the range includes panoramic sliding patio doors and triple track doors. Origin doors also appear in the line-up.

Replacement conservatory roofs and roofline

A distinct part of the business is the upgrade of conservatory roofs and frames. Bon Accord Glass offers lightweight solid tiled roofs, which it describes as providing a high standard of insulation while remaining light in weight, and replacement glass roofs intended to keep the space bright and filled with natural light. Flat roofs with skylights and lantern roofs complete the roofing options. Roofline work is listed as a separate service.

Fitted kitchens under the Bon Accord Kitchens name

The company sells fitted kitchens through its Bon Accord Kitchens range, aimed at making the kitchen the centre of the home. Four broad styles are offered: classic kitchens with traditional detailing and a wide choice of colours and finishes; modern kitchens with coloured and textured finishes and a focus on storage and design features; shaker kitchens in a broad palette of colours; and handleless kitchens, which come with a choice of more than 28 handle rails. Kitchen handles, worktops and storage are sold as part of the range.

Guarantees, pricing and buying process

Bon Accord Glass states that everything it sells carries a ten-year guarantee. It describes a price promise under which it regularly checks the market and claims competitive pricing relative to product quality, and it presents its buying process as transparent from start to finish. Free, no-obligation quotations are offered for windows, doors, porches, replacement roofs, fitted kitchens, secondary glazing and roofline work, and the company also handles brochure requests, appointments and aftercare service requests. Finance and special offers are listed among the available payment options.
