Hotel Motel One Salzburg-Mirabell is at 58–60 Elisabethkai: it faces the Salzach, about ten minutes’ walk from Mirabell and close to the Mülln-Altstadt rail stop. That stop is not Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. If you arrive at the main station with bags, examine the actual route to each hotel before booking, and do not confuse Motel One Mirabell with its Salzburg-Süd property.
A house breakfast or a functional base
Markus Sittikus emphasises its regional breakfast, served 07:00–10:30, garden and lounge with records and an honesty bar. Its four-star classification describes the hotel category; it is not the score guests give it. Reviews appreciate the personality and team, though some rooms seem small or simply equipped. Motel One has a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, lounge-bar and breakfast buffet from 06:00 to 10:00 on weekdays, 07:00 to 11:00 on weekends and public holidays. Many guests value the cleanliness and riverside walk; others warn that standard rooms can be tight and that breakfast or parking costs extra.
Mirabell before crossing to the Old Town
Salzburg tourism says the gardens generally open from around 06:00 until dusk, with partial winter closures; palace rooms follow a different schedule. An early breakfast leaves time for the Pegasus fountain and formal beds before crossing towards the Altstadt. Markus Sittikus offers the more direct approach from the main station. Motel One gives a different introduction to the city along the Salzach. Compare full prices for the same dates, including breakfast and cancellation terms: a chain name alone does not guarantee the cheaper choice.
Choose Markus Sittikus for the short walk from the main station and a characterful hotel; Motel One for 24-hour reception and the riverfront, accepting more compact standard rooms.
