Galena rewards travelers who stay close to Main Street
Galena’s appeal is concentrated: a remarkably preserved Main Street, steep hills, old houses and a weekend pace that encourages walking rather than rushing between attractions. That makes lodging near the historic core especially useful. The town has conventional options, but its more distinctive stays often occupy historic buildings that reinforce the reason people come in the first place.
DeSoto House Hotel is the most direct Main Street choice in this group.
