Choosing where to stay in Beacon, New York, begins with deciding how much of the visit should happen inside the hotel. Main Street offers a base for restaurants and galleries; the Fishkill Creek setting brings industrial architecture and a waterfall into the stay; a garden estate makes the hotel itself part of the reason to travel. The three choices have different strengths, even before comparing individual rooms.

The Roundhouse: a room within Beacon’s industrial landscape

The Roundhouse occupies restored factory buildings near the eastern end of Main Street. Its 51 rooms are divided between the Roundhouse and Mill buildings, so the property name alone does not describe the view or the relationship to the restaurant. Choose the building and room category first, particularly when the waterfall is part of the appeal.

Complimentary parking, an in-room continental breakfast and a round-the-clock front desk make it a practical base. The station is farther away than a glance at a town map might suggest: the hotel puts it at 1.7 miles. A taxi or local bus can be a more comfortable arrival than walking with luggage. Dinner reservations remain separate from the room booking, and the restaurant does not open every day.

The Dutchess: select the building, not just the address

The Dutchess places several accommodation types on Main Street. The Townhouse has an elevator, traditionally styled rooms and access to the rooftop garden and spa. The Factory has a more industrial and artistic identity, with stairs between its two floors and a policy excluding children and animals. Artist apartments introduce kitchens and separate living areas for travelers who want a different arrangement.

There is a relevant qualification for 2026: at the September review, the Factory was still described as in a soft-opening phase, with rooms available but some art installations unfinished. The spa also requires deliberate planning. Treatments are by appointment, and guest-only hydrotherapy carries a separate session charge. Confirm late arrival because the property does not have a conventional overnight reception.

Mirbeau: leave time for the estate

Mirbeau Inn & Spa Beacon opened in May 2026 on the Tioronda estate, adding a larger resort setting to the local choice. Accommodation is divided between the historic mansion and Spa Château, with gardens, dining and a substantial spa giving the stay its shape.

Room descriptions matter here too: compact mansion rooms, suites and château categories with patios or balconies are different propositions. Spa and fitness facilities are for adults aged eighteen and over, and appointments should be reserved explicitly. Mirbeau is the strongest fit of these three when the hotel’s grounds and spa are central to the trip; the Main Street alternatives make more sense when most waking hours will be spent exploring town.
