Maskay guide

Where to stay in Bled: by the lake or near Bled Jezero station?

Two four-star hotels set the lake’s central promenade against rail access through Bled Jezero.

Bled may look like a postcard, but when planning a night away it matters where that postcard sits on the map. The lakeside promenade gathers cafés, boat landings and views of the island; Bled Jezero station is in another part of town and should not be confused with Bled’s main station. For travellers arriving by train or wanting to start the morning by the water, Hotel Park and Hotel Triglav meet different needs: one is on the central shore, the other beside the rail line that follows the lake.

Hotel Park occupies the promenade and has 218 rooms, a panoramic thermal pool, saunas and a restaurant. Rooms face either the lake or the park; the waterside address makes it easy to walk to the boat landings and the café serving the original cream cake. Reviews highlight the pool and location, alongside less favourable comments about price and service during busy periods. The main railway station is 3.3 kilometres away, so plan the final leg of your arrival.

Hotel Triglav Bled is beside Bled Jezero, only a short walk from the platform. The 1906 building offers individually designed rooms, some with lake-view balconies, and brings together Restaurant 1906, a bar, wine cellar, sauna and pool. Guests often praise breakfast, views and staff; some note that the hotel is apart from the most central promenade. Its official four-star classification and travellers’ comments describe different aspects of a stay.

The choice depends on your itinerary. Park works if you want to step directly onto the promenade, reach cafés and add a swim after walking; Triglav simplifies arrival on the Bled Jezero line and offers an on-site restaurant experience. If travelling by train, check which Bled station your ticket uses. If driving, check parking: Hotel Park’s spaces cannot be reserved in advance and are subject to availability.

For lakeside life and an urban feel, Park keeps everything close; for rail travel and dinner with a view without leaving the hotel, Triglav is a more tucked-away alternative. Confirm the exact room, breakfast, facility access and station transport before paying. The Bled view may be the same from both properties, but the rhythm of the day—and the length of each walk—changes considerably.

Bottom line

Hotel Park puts visitors on the main promenade and adds a panoramic pool; Hotel Triglav is walkable from Bled Jezero and combines history, views and a restaurant.
