Where to eat near Fort Lauderdale Beach?

Four restaurants show how different a meal can feel along Fort Lauderdale Beach, from a historic house to Japanese-Korean dining.

Fort Lauderdale Beach offers more than a view

A restaurant near Fort Lauderdale Beach can easily become interchangeable with the next one if the only filter is “ocean view.” The better way to choose is by the kind of meal you want after the beach, before a night out or as the main event. Within a compact stretch of the barrier island, the setting ranges from a historic house to a hotel dining room built around Japanese and Korean flavors.

Casablanca Cafe is the historical outlier. It occupies a former beachfront home and gives the meal a sense of place that has little to do with a modern resort. Lunch or dinner here can feel like an older Fort Lauderdale surviving directly beside the contemporary beach strip. Lona Cocina & Tequileria moves back into the present with Mexican cooking, tequila and a location at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach; it is an easy fit when the goal is to stay close to the sand rather than make dinner a separate trip.

For a more polished dinner, Takato at the Conrad combines Japanese and Korean influences in a hotel setting directly on Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard. Just south, S3 Sun Surf Sand takes a broader coastal approach, mixing seafood, steak and sushi with an oceanfront location. The menus overlap less than the addresses might suggest.

The beach is the common ground, not the whole experience

Casablanca is the choice when history and atmosphere matter; Lona keeps the meal casual and beach-connected; Takato makes dinner more of an occasion; S3 covers a group that wants a broader menu without giving up the oceanfront setting. All four are close enough to belong to the same beach conversation, but they solve very different dining plans.
