After a show, a long casino session or a full day walking the Strip, Las Vegas still has two sit-down dinners that do not depend on the clock: Shokku Ramen, in the Spring Mountain corridor known as Chinatown, and Grand Lux Cafe, inside The Venetian. Both advertise 24-hour service, but the experience is very different. One focuses on ramen, spice and manga-inspired design; the other brings together a broad American and international menu in a Strip resort. The better choice depends on whether you want one particular dish or a place where everyone in the group can find something different.
Shokku is more of a late-night stop with a distinct identity: long-cooked broths, customisable bowls, fried rice and Japanese-inspired dishes. Visitors often praise the flavours, portions and anime atmosphere; some comments say certain broths can be salty and service may slow down when the restaurant is busy. The restaurant puts it less than a ten-minute drive from the Strip, so factor in the ride when heading out late. The menu has vegan options and lets diners adjust the heat, but the maximum-spice challenge is not representative of an ordinary order.
Grand Lux Cafe is more convenient if you are staying at The Venetian or walking through that part of the Strip: its menu includes pasta, meat, seafood, burgers, breakfast and desserts, with table service throughout the night. Diners often mention generous portions and plenty of choice, alongside mixed opinions about service when the room is full. It is also on the casino floor, which families with young children may want to consider. The Monday-to-Friday happy hour from 4 to 6:30 p.m. will not help anyone arriving after midnight, but the continuous kitchen means you do not have to settle for a takeaway counter.
Shokku is at 3889 Spring Mountain Road; Grand Lux is at 3355 Las Vegas Boulevard South. To reach the latter from the Venetian lobby, cross the Grand Colonnade and follow signs for Restaurant Row and the Grand Canal; for Shokku, plan on a taxi or car from the central hotels. Neither is a buffet or unlimited deal: you order from a menu and pay for each dish. Choose Chinatown if you want a hot bowl and a distinctive setting; choose Grand Lux if you prefer to stay on the Strip and pick from many cuisines. Check the menu and extras before ordering, especially if the night has already strained your budget.
