Where can you shop for farmers market produce in Tampa, from Ybor City to Hyde Park and Carrollwood?

A year-round Saturday market in Ybor City and monthly neighborhood markets in Hyde Park and Carrollwood offer different routes to fresh food and local vendors.

A Tampa market calendar: Ybor City weekly, Hyde Park monthly and Carrollwood up north

Tampa’s farmers markets work on more than one clock. Ybor City has a weekly year-round street market; Hyde Park and Carrollwood host monthly gatherings with different neighborhood identities and shopping mixes. The point is not to rank them but to pick the right date and scale: a Saturday in the historic district, a first-Sunday visit amid the shops of Hyde Park Village, or a second-Saturday community event in North Tampa. The addresses are spread out enough that checking transport and parking before leaving is part of the plan.

The most frequent option is Ybor City Saturday Market, held at Centennial Park, 1901 N. 19th Street. The organizer says it operates every Saturday throughout the year, rain or shine, with hours of 9 a.m.–3 p.m. from October through April and 9 a.m.–1 p.m. from May through September; lightning or tropical-storm forecasts can change that. Its listed mix stretches well beyond produce to gourmet foods and sauces, fresh bread, prepared meals, herbs, plants, honey, pet treats, crafts and other small goods. The City of Tampa lists the public market as a free event and provides current event dates.

Ybor is also the market in this group most naturally connected to downtown by public transit. The TECO Line Streetcar is fare-free and links Downtown Tampa, the Channel District and Ybor City; Centennial Park is the market’s named stop. That makes the Saturday visit easier to combine with the historic district than the other two options. The current streetcar timetable should still be checked before traveling, especially around holiday service or severe weather. The Florida Department of Agriculture lists the market’s mailing/location address and phone, while the City’s event page is the check for a specific date.

For a first-Sunday trip, Fresh Market at Hyde Park Village sets up at 742 South Village Circle. Tampa Bay Markets says it has run since 2012 and brings more than 90 vendors to the center of the shopping village, with fresh produce, artisan wares, gifts and prepared food, along with local music. October through May hours are 10 a.m.–3 p.m.; June through September they shorten to 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The organizer lists free parking, family- and dog-friendly access. Because it shares a retail district, it pairs easily with other village errands, but the produce stalls remain only one part of a much broader vendor market.

Carrollwood offers a northern neighborhood alternative at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road. Carrollwood Market is listed for the second Saturday of each month, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., year-round, and has operated since 2013. Its organizer counts more than 70 vendors and names fresh produce, local foods, artisan goods, handmade crafts and live music. The same page confirms free parking and a family- and dog-friendly setting. Compared with Hyde Park’s first-Sunday date, it creates a separate weekend choice and a more community-center setting rather than a shopping-village plaza.

The calendars help build a simple route for a month: Ybor for a regular Saturday, Hyde Park on the first Sunday, Carrollwood on the second Saturday. They are not a single walkable circuit, and the routes do not all line up with the historic streetcar. Tampa’s street grid and regional road network make the car practical for North Tampa and Carrollwood, while Ybor’s transit connection gives visitors a reason to leave the car elsewhere. The markets publish their addresses and, for Hyde Park and Carrollwood, free-parking information; Ybor’s organizer does not promise event parking on its hours page, so use current city parking signs and garage information rather than assume a dedicated lot.

The food mix changes the purpose of each visit. Ybor combines seasonal produce and plants with bread, sauces, meals and crafts in a historic outdoor market. Hyde Park’s 90-plus booths create a larger monthly village event with retail, food and locally sourced offerings. Carrollwood combines produce and handcrafted goods with music around a community cultural center. Organizers do not publish a complete stall-by-stall inventory or common prices, so a visitor who needs a particular vegetable, meat or prepared dish should contact the market or follow its current vendor list before making a special drive.

Tampa’s heat, afternoon storms and holiday calendar can affect outdoor trading. Ybor’s own site says to check its social channels during lightning and tropical storms; Tampa Bay Markets maintains current market pages and event listings for the two monthly events. Confirm the date, hours and any location change on the organizer’s page, then check the TECO schedule for Ybor or a current route planner for other neighborhoods. The reward is a better matched visit: one can choose the street market’s weekly pulse, the retail-village setting or the community-center gathering without mistaking one for another.

Bottom line

Choose by date and neighborhood: Ybor for the regular Saturday visit, Hyde Park for the first Sunday and Carrollwood for the second Saturday.
