How do you register with AlaskaJobs and get in-person job-search help in Anchorage?

Anchorage Midtown Job Center helps with job searches and access to AlaskaJobs. Find its address, phone, hours and registration steps.

In Alaska, a job search may involve changing industries, seasonal work or moving between communities separated by long distances. Anchorage Midtown Job Center is an in-person place to understand the state system, explore re-employment options or find local workshops and events. The network publishes hours, phone numbers and emails for each site, and the Anchorage team can advise on job searches, online profiles and resources for the next step. It does not charge people to find vacancies or guarantee that an employer will hire them.

The office is at 3301 Eagle Street, Suite 101, Anchorage, AK 99503, and is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 907-269-4800 or email midtown.jobcenter@alaska.gov. The current application portal is AlaskaJobs. The Department of Labour says the system replaced ALEXsys and requires a myAlaska account; previous accounts and some information were transferred, so returning users should follow the individual sign-in instructions. Anchorage Midtown Job Center can help if creating an account, opening a profile or retrieving a search becomes an obstacle.

When you call, explain whether you need to open an account, upload a résumé, find a job fair or discuss training. If your question concerns a re-employment programme or an equal-opportunity complaint, ask which office handles it and what deadline applies; Alaska publishes local and state officers for discrimination matters involving workforce services. Keep records and contact dates. For general help with an office, the state network has a toll-free line at 1-877-724-2539.

Be wary of messages claiming a job is reserved if you pay a fee or provide bank details. The FTC recommends confirming an offer with the company and avoiding payments in exchange for work. A public centre can advise you and connect you with opportunities, but the vacancy and hiring decision must be checked directly with the employer.

Bottom line

Compare the options and confirm your registration directly with the official provider before sharing personal information.
