Where can you find farmers markets in Norfolk, Virginia?

Norfolk’s market calendar reaches from the Chesapeake Bay side of East Beach to Ghent’s neighborhood street market and a Black-grower market in Berkley.

Norfolk’s market mornings move between the bay, Ghent and Berkley

Norfolk is a city shaped by the water, but its farmers markets do not sit in one waterfront district. East Beach opens toward the Chesapeake Bay in Ocean View; Ghent’s market occupies a neighborhood corner near Colley Avenue; and the Mid-Atlantic Black Farmers Market gathers in Berkley, beside E. Palmer Supermarket. The distances matter. Each setting serves a different local routine, and the calendar is uneven at the end of October: East Beach and Berkley still list November dates, while Ghent’s regular April-to-September run has ended.

East Beach/EOV Farmers Market is at Bay Oaks Park, 2413 East Ocean View Avenue. Its 2026 schedule is Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon, May 2 through November 21. The market’s organizer lists two public parking lots along Third Bay Street and parallel parking on surrounding side streets; weather cancellations are possible if conditions become severe or the city closes the park. Visit Norfolk describes a Saturday mix that includes microgreens, pasture-raised eggs, cold brew, food trucks and yeast doughnuts made on site, and reports 65 vendors. This is the most straightforward choice for an active late-fall Saturday near Ocean View.

Ghent Farmers Market is held at Colley Avenue and Spotswood Avenue, in front of Blair Middle School. Its regular schedule is the first and third Friday of each month from April through September, 4 to 7 p.m.; that season has ended for 2026. The market’s neighborhood association describes a walkable local gathering for farmers and vendors serving Ghent and nearby residents, and lists a separate holiday market on the first Sunday in December. VisitNorfolk’s local guide places it among the district’s recurring food events. A December visit should be planned around the holiday-market notice, not the summer Friday pattern.

Mid-Atlantic Black Farmers Market meets in the E. Palmer Supermarket parking lot, 201 East Berkley Avenue, on the first and third Saturdays from June through November, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A WHRO report from August describes local Black growers selling fresh fruits and vegetables, along with cold-pressed juices, sea moss and handmade skincare. The story follows grower Thelonious Cook and explains the market’s aim to bring regional Black-grown produce into a neighborhood where organizers say access to local growers has been limited. The report said the market was still working toward SNAP/EBT certification at that time, so shoppers should confirm any payment program before relying on it.

These locations reflect Norfolk’s geography rather than a single market circuit. East Beach belongs to the Ocean View shoreline, Ghent sits closer to the central city’s residential and commercial blocks, and Berkley lies across the Elizabeth River from the downtown core. Hampton Roads Transit publishes an interactive regional route map and real-time stop information; use it to check the precise trip from your starting point instead of assuming a direct bus connection. Each profile includes a map route to the published address. East Beach’s organizer gives parking details; the other market pages do not offer a comparable parking plan in the sources checked.

For a visit on October 31, East Beach is the market with a clearly published Saturday date; the schedule extends through November 21. The Mid-Atlantic market is listed through November on the first and third Saturdays, but the exact remaining dates should be confirmed with organizers. Ghent’s regular season is finished, though its December holiday market gives the neighborhood a later return. The listings do not provide a shared price sheet, and products depend on each week’s harvest and vendors. Check the current lineup, ask vendors about payment options and plan around one district at a time: the shoreline, Ghent and Berkley each make a different kind of market morning.

Bottom line

East Beach is the current Saturday shoreline stop, Berkley’s market centers Black growers and culturally varied produce, and Ghent remains a neighborhood favorite whose regular season has ended for 2026 but whose organizer lists a December holiday market.
