Maskay guide

Which counties does Mexico’s Laredo Consulate serve, and which services require appointments?

Laredo serves six Texas counties and publishes different hours for documentation and protection. This guide locates the border office and explains how to distinguish consular procedures from community programmes.

Mexico’s Consulate General in Laredo serves Duval, Jim Hogg, La Salle, McMullen, Webb and Zapata counties. Although the city is a well-known crossing point, the consulate does not publish jurisdiction over all of Texas. Residents elsewhere should first identify which office is assigned to their county before travelling or requesting an appointment.

The office is at 1612 Farragut Street. Its website lists weekday public service and separates documentation—from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3–4 p.m., by appointment—from protection and information, available 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Appointment and time window depend on the service. The published general number is (956) 723-0990; for a consular emergency, use the official emergency channel shown in current notices.

Documentation includes passports, consular registration cards, voter ID, Civil Registry and notarial acts. Other pages explain protection for workplace accidents, detention, violence, missing relatives and repatriation of remains, along with health, education and financial programmes. Check the exact procedure before travelling: the general portal groups matters with different documents, appointment systems and responsible units.

The border location makes the office accessible from south Texas and the international bridge, but crossing the border has separate travel requirements. The consulate provides directions from I-35 and the Juárez–Lincoln bridge. Allow time for the crossing, confirm the US-side address and do not confuse the consulate with service offices in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

Maps reviews for 1612 Farragut describe different experiences, including favourable accounts of efficient processing and guidance, alongside reports of waits or document questions. They cannot replace the official checklist or promise a processing time. The Mexico Consulate General in Laredo profile brings the address, jurisdiction and service details together.

Bottom line

Check your county first, then the procedure. The official page separates documentation and protection hours; reaching the city does not replace an appointment or establish that this office handles your case.
