Las Positas Promise covers the $46-per-unit enrollment fee for eligible new full-time students in year one; a second year depends on maintaining the requirements through fall and spring. California residents and AB 540 students may qualify; college credits earned before high-school graduation do not necessarily erase first-time status. Summer 2026 at Las Positas immediately before fall may also count.

For the 2026–27 cohort, students must enroll in and complete at least 12 units in fall and spring and qualify as California residents or AB 540 students. FAFSA or CADAA must list Las Positas as the college of record. Coverage is tuition/enrollment fees; the source does not promise books, health fees, transportation, or personal expenses.

Apply to Las Positas, submit the 2026–27 FAFSA or CADAA with the correct school code, and verify your course load once classes post. Contact campus Financial Aid if your residency status, dual credits, or approved DSPS load needs review. The page lists 925-424-1580 and lpcfinaid@laspositascollege.edu.

The tuition-promise page does not promise a future application date or a cash award. Second-year eligibility depends on completing the academic cycle; do not count units for courses you do not finish. Ask whether California College Promise Grant can cover the same fee and how the account is adjusted to avoid duplicate benefits.

Read the program profile and the official FAFSA application guide; ask the college to confirm your individual package.

To compare this award with another college offer, ask for an itemized estimate: covered tuition and fees, other grants applied first, and the balance you would still owe. Keep confirmation of every form, and when the program requires it, submit the FAFSA or CADAA for the correct academic year. An advertised maximum or the phrase “free tuition” does not automatically include books, housing, transportation, or terms the program excludes.

Bottom line

The program and college financial-aid office confirm eligibility, covered balance, and dates; a published maximum does not guarantee an award.
