Jacksonville covers a large area, so choosing a car wash starts with the route as much as the wash itself. A brushless tunnel, a conventional express line and a full-service center are different stops with different expectations. The three locations in this guide sit along San Jose Boulevard, Merrill Road and University Boulevard West. Their published menus make it possible to compare a touchless wash, an express exterior clean with self-service finishing tools, and a staffed service that also offers interior care and detailing.
Choose the wash format that fits the vehicle and the day
South of the city center, Go Touch Less Car Wash uses a touchless tunnel: its equipment relies on water and wash products rather than top brushes or side wraps. The business lists four levels, from Deluxe through Super and Ultimate to Graphene, and a Daily Wash Plan that permits one visit per day. That format is worth comparing if avoiding physical brush contact is a priority. A limited-time offer currently advertises introductory rates for new members for their first three months, followed by regular monthly prices; read the enrollment screen for the applicable tier and renewal amount before joining.
On Merrill Road, El Car Wash – Merrill Road is an express tunnel with a sizable finish area. The location lists vacuums, clean microfiber towels, automatic mat cleaners, scrub sinks, air, and glass and interior cleaning products. Individual exterior washes run from a basic level through Better, Ceramic and Graphene; monthly plans cover the same ascending package tiers. These amenities let drivers handle a quick cabin vacuum or mat clean after the tunnel, but they are self-service tools rather than a staff-performed interior detail.
For a staffed option, Island Time Car Wash on University Boulevard West describes itself as a full-service wash and detail center. Its menu ranges from soft-cloth exterior washes to packages listing vacuuming, windows, wheel work, wax, ceramic sealant and care for the doors and console. It also publishes a separate detailing menu and offers washbooks, with a buy-three-get-one offer on most packages. Customer comments call out service and care as positives; other feedback makes the practical details—price, drying and time at the site—worth confirming when you select a package. Experiences vary, so a single comment should not stand in for the full picture.
What to check before setting out
These locations are not interchangeable stops. Go Touch Less is in Mandarin at 11150 San Jose Boulevard; El Car Wash is farther north at 7147 Merrill Road; Island Time is at 5864 University Boulevard West. Check the exact address and posted hours against your route. Each business offers a phone number and an official website for questions, and the current menu should settle whether the service includes just an exterior wash, supplies for a self-directed interior cleanup, or work performed by staff.
Memberships are most useful when the location is convenient enough to visit regularly. Before enrolling, compare the monthly renewal price with the single-wash option, see whether the plan covers one vehicle and one daily wash, and read the cancellation and promotional terms. For a touchless tunnel, compare the wash levels rather than assuming all tiers apply the same protectants. At a full-service center, ask what interior tasks are included, how long the selected package usually takes, and whether the quoted price changes with vehicle size or condition. The business profiles below give the location-specific phone, hours, menu and direct links needed to make that call.
