Verify the company behind the appointment
Florida's DBPR lookup lets you search by license number and inspect the qualified contractor, business name, current status and expiration. Match those details to the entity on the proposal. A license record is more meaningful than a website badge, although it does not guarantee workmanship or settle whether a particular contract fits that contractor's scope.
For the three operators below, we checked actual DBPR records and the corresponding Google Maps locations. Ferran's CAC1817254 record identified Hector Luis Dominicci with Ferran Services & Contracting Inc; Frank Gay's CAC1821400 identified Jerald P White with Frank Gay Services; Del-Air's CAC1824446 identified Gregory Spitzer with Del-Air Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration LLC. All three showed Current, Active status and August 31, 2028 expiration on the verification date. Recheck before contracting and clarify the applicable qualifier if the proposal names another entity.
Compare service arrangements, not just stars
Ferran's Grand Street operation offers AC repair, installation and maintenance, with 24/7 emergency contact. Google Maps checked directly on September 28, 2026 showed 4.7/5 from 1,315 reviews. The visible sample contained praise for a Sunday response and complaints about follow-through or maintenance. Ask what the diagnostic visit includes, how an ordered part is handled and who manages a return appointment.
Frank Gay Services' residential Sunport Lane listing showed 4.7/5 from 15,202 reviews. That larger total covers several trades; a favorable electrical review is not evidence about every AC job. The official site publishes 407-204-0430, different from the listing's phone, and advertises 24-hour availability. Its repair and installation offerings make it a comparison candidate when a technician recommends replacing equipment, provided the homeowner receives a separate explanation of repair options.
Del-Air's North Orlando branch is physically in Sanford, at Aero Lane, and should not be confused with its South Orlando location. The matched Sanford listing showed 4.6/5 from 6,424 Google reviews, including positive repair accounts and a complaint about recent lack of service. The branch advertises 24/7 emergency support; confirm coverage for your property and the actual arrival window. Neither the branch name nor a statewide reputation justifies combining unrelated locations' ratings.
Keep the diagnosis separate from the sale
Before dispatch, establish the callout or diagnostic fee and any after-hours terms. After inspection, request the specific fault, proposed work, parts and labor price, warranty and expected completion. If replacement is proposed, ask why a repair is unsuitable and what equipment, installation work and required approvals are included. Confirm permit requirements with the authority responsible for the property's address rather than assuming every Orlando mailing address falls within the same jurisdiction.
A maintenance membership and a repair authorization are different purchases. Read what visits and discounts a plan includes before paying, and retain the invoice and return-visit promises. The strongest comparison is the company that can explain its recommendation and document the work, price and follow-through while giving you a verifiable contractor identity.

Options to compare
These options relate to the question. Read each profile and check current details before deciding.
Orlando HVAC repair, installation and maintenance operation with round-the-clock emergency contact and an active verified contractor license.
Three visible Google reviews include praise for a Sunday repair response and complaints about follow-through or an HVAC maintenance experience; the company replied to the complaints. These individual accounts support asking about diagnosis, charges and return visits.
Orlando residential services operation offering AC repair and replacement with 24/7 contact and a verified active HVAC qualifier.
The three visible Google reviews cover more than HVAC: one praises an electrical assessment, one combines friendly staff with a complaint about unfinished follow-up, and one praises compressor and air-handler replacement. The listing-wide rating cannot be read as an HVAC-only score.
