Where can you eat Mediterranean food in Houston: Dimassi’s buffet or Fadi’s counter line?

Two restaurants in southwest Houston offer Lebanese and Mediterranean variety in different formats: one is an unlimited buffet, the other charges by the plate.

In Houston, “buffet” can describe two different experiences. Dimassi’s in Kirby charges per person for a self-service Mediterranean buffet; Fadi’s on Westheimer serves Lebanese food through a counter line where you choose a plate or combination and pay for what you select. That distinction helps you decide before setting out: the first suits sampling and going back for more; the second gives more control to someone who wants a defined portion.

Dimassi’s spread includes salads, hummus, falafel, vegetables and meats, with halal options. Its official website lists different prices by day and meal period, so a weekday lunch rate should not be assumed to apply at dinner or on weekends. Fadi’s lists plates with one or several sides, kebabs, salads and Lebanese dishes; its menu lets you order a full plate but does not advertise unlimited servings. Diners’ comments about both places often value the variety, while also showing that food temperature and service can depend on the visit.

Both restaurants are in southwest Houston: Dimassi’s is at 8236 Kirby Drive and Fadi’s Galleria at 6365 Westheimer Road. Neither is in the historic downtown, so travelling by car or taxi is most practical. Check the official menu and that day’s hours; if you are with a group, agree in advance how to handle the bill, because a per-person buffet and a counter-line meal produce different totals.

For someone arriving hungry and wanting to sample several dishes without counting portions, Dimassi’s offers the more straightforward format. Fadi’s is a better fit if the group wants Lebanese cooking but each person would rather choose and pay for an individual plate. Allowing for tax, drinks and extras makes the comparison more useful than looking at the advertised price alone. The choice is less about which has more variety in the abstract and more about whether you prefer unlimited self-service or a plate built to suit you.

Bottom line

Check current details and choose according to your budget, time and way of travelling.
