Promise Plus is a structured first-year experience for new Glendale Community College students. The current program covers enrollment, health, and student-service fees for up to two academic years (two fall and two spring terms); winter and summer sessions are excluded. Students must apply to GCC, complete the 2026–27 FAFSA or CADAA, request a counselor appointment before registering, attend full time, and complete Summer Bridge.

Beyond eligible fees, the program offers dedicated counselors, peer mentors, priority registration in reserved fall classes, workshops, events, and career-exploration courses. California residency must be confirmed for the applicable terms. Students with approved DSPS accommodations can ask about reduced-load exceptions.

Apply to GCC for Summer/Fall 2026, submit FAFSA or CADAA using federal school code 001203, request a Promise Plus counseling appointment, complete Summer Bridge, and enroll in at least 12 credits each semester. Follow the 2026–28 cohort requirements guide and monitor your college email; if you miss a condition, you may become responsible for fees even if support services remain available.

Fee coverage does not mean the college pays for books, transportation, housing, or every student charge. The guide distinguishes covered terms from excluded winter and summer sessions, and rules can vary by cohort. Ask the program to confirm which balance remains after other aid and separately check whether you qualify for the California College Promise Grant.

Read the program profile and the official FAFSA application guide; ask the college to confirm your individual package.

To compare this award with another college offer, ask for an itemized estimate: covered tuition and fees, other grants applied first, and the balance you would still owe. Keep confirmation of every form, and when the program requires it, submit the FAFSA or CADAA for the correct academic year. An advertised maximum or the phrase “free tuition” does not automatically include books, housing, transportation, or terms the program excludes.

Bottom line

The program and college financial-aid office confirm eligibility, covered balance, and dates; a published maximum does not guarantee an award.
