How can you look for work for free in Gwinnett near Duluth, and what if a center does not respond?

Compare WorkSource in Duluth, the state center in Norcross and career support for Gwinnett Tech students.

A job search in Gwinnett can lead to three different doors, even if they look similar from the outside. WorkSource Atlanta Regional guides county residents; the Georgia Department of Labor handles state services, including unemployment matters; and Gwinnett Technical College provides career resources to its student community. Choosing the right one saves a trip to an office that does not handle your issue and keeps you from paying an intermediary for help that may already be free.

WorkSource’s centre has relocated, but its official pages disagree about the address. Atlanta Regional’s main page, checked for this update, lists 3885 Crestwood Parkway, Suite 200; WorkSource’s local page still gives 3805 Crestwood Parkway NW, Suite 300; and a December 2025 relocation announcement names 3805 Crestwood Parkway, Suite 200. The network lists 678-268-6610 and weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call before travelling to confirm the address, entrance and whether you need an appointment. A map listing for a former location is marked closed; its comments should not be transferred to the current centre. WorkSource also provides information about WIOA training, which is subject to eligibility.

In Norcross, the Georgia Department of Labor’s Gwinnett County Career Center is at 2211 Beaver Ruin Road, Suite 160. Its public listing includes complaints about waits, phone calls and unemployment matters, alongside positive accounts, including one person who credits the office with helping recover unpaid wages. That mix warrants questions about timelines and follow-up, but it does not measure job-search guidance alone: many comments concern unemployment benefits, which have separate rules and appeals. If your issue is a benefit determination, check the document and its date; the state says some appeals must be filed in writing within 15 days.

Current Gwinnett Tech students and alumni can use Career Services to connect their training with employers. The office reviews résumés and cover letters, offers mock interviews, helps with career exploration and shares job leads. Its policy requires listings to identify the employer and a specific role; it bars commission-only jobs, pyramid schemes and openings that require applicants to buy products, licences, tools or training before starting. If a listing breaks those rules or the office does not respond, keep the advert and messages and consult the college’s formal Student Complaint Policy. The college says it may exclude recruiters for misleading information or founded complaints.

The anti-scam rule is simpler: do not pay for the promise of a job. The FTC explains that a legitimate placement firm typically charges the hiring company, not the job seeker. Verify any opening on the employer’s official website, be wary of cheques you are told to deposit and forward, and do not share bank details before a verified hire. Start with WorkSource in Duluth; call the Norcross labour centre for state matters, or ask Gwinnett Tech if you are a student.
