How can you use Employ Florida to look for work and complete unemployment registration?

Employ Florida brings together job listings and résumé tools. Learn about general registration, steps required by the benefits system and how to get help without paying an intermediary.

In Florida, a job search can begin at home with Employ Florida, the state portal bringing together vacancies, career information and résumé tools. The Florida Department of Commerce presents it as an employment resource, while the CareerSource network provides in-person assistance. The site can help organise a search and connect you with employers; it cannot guarantee an interview or certify every listing as a verified offer.

Go directly to EmployFlorida.com and choose the access route for job seekers. Complete your profile with a valid email address, work history and education, then create or upload a current résumé. The state job-search resources page links to the portal, the Employ Florida Help Center and CareerSource offices. If you are only exploring, first review the features available to you; avoid creating a second account if you already have one, and use the official recovery options to regain access.

If you have applied for reemployment benefits, there are additional steps that should not be confused with a casual job search. Florida says claimants must create or update an Employ Florida profile, provide a valid email address, complete the work-history section and create or upload a résumé. The agency may schedule an appointment at CareerSource and send the notice to the address on file; missing it may affect benefit processing. Read messages in your Reconnect account and follow the individual instructions you receive, since exemptions and requirements can depend on your claim.

When reviewing a vacancy, confirm the company name, job title, location and whether it is still open; then look for the same role on the employer’s official careers page. Do not give bank details, your Social Security number or identity documents to an unknown contact before confirming who is hiring. The FTC warns that scammers impersonate legitimate companies, send quick offers by text and request financial information before an interview. A public employment service should not charge you for a promise of a job.

For a broader look at public results, CareerSource Florida’s annual report records that 67,017 people served by the network were employed by June 2025, within the reporting period from June 2024 to June 2025. This is a statewide network figure, not a measure of the portal or a single office. If you cannot access an account or complete registration, use the state help centre or ask CareerSource for guidance. Comments can flag delays, but they do not by themselves prove a failure: record the step you tried, when, the response and keep screenshots, especially if the process affects an unemployment payment.

Bottom line

Confirm each step on the official website and keep a record of your applications.
